Beautiful rooms, including my single bedroom, dining room and public rooms. Excellent staff, professional, friendly and efficient. Lovely breakfast. Will definitely stay there again.

Couldn't speak highly enough of our stay. Delightful staff, extremely comfortable accommodation and great food. Ideally situated close to Chatsworth House and other gems of the Peak District. Would definitely recommend.

I believe the hotel is going to be refurbished in the new year. It is showing little signs of wear-but overall the feeling was of comfort. The staff were fabulous… Overall I would recommend this hotel..& would stay here again.

Nothing we didn’t like

Lovely old building, lots of character but quite unassuming from the outside, beautiful inside. The room was a good size for such an old building. The staff were all lovely, very helpful and knowledgable about the area. We went t to Chatsworth for the Xmas market and when we returned we spent the rest of the evening In the hotel bar. The cocktails were fantastic, and the bar staff were happy to make any not on the menu! The room was beautiful, very comfortable, with all you could need plus some lovely extra little touches, a small box of chocs and milk In bottles rather than sachets. A smeg kettle and penhaligons toiletries. Looking out into the beautiful garden. Breakfast was absolutely delicious too, we will definitely rent for Sunday lunch!

Location and absolutely stunning. So warm and luxurious. Well looked after wanted for nothing. The attention to detail was amazing and the food was amazing.
