Uros Amaru Marka Lodge

It's a once in a lifetime experience! It is not just a place for the night stay, It is a new lifestyle. A totally different one from everything I have lived before. book with an open mind, and give trust to Felix and his family. He made us feel comfortable and shared his life with us. The toilet is camper style and there is the shower with hot water available, it is not a hotel shower, but it is incredible how they have managed to create such commodities for tourists using the lake water (which is precious to them, they drink it) There is also drinking water for guests, tea and muna, breakfast and.. shampoo! and everything you could need for your stay, plus Felix was very responsive if we had any specific needs we could communicate in advance. There were many blankent available. We got the chance to meet his family who all worked to make the stay enjoyable for us. We had a blast, he was very kind to offer us the boat ride, and took us to our tour location and made all the arrangments. He also booked us the taxi which took us from the station to the meeting point. a Very very memorable stay! I wish I had stayed more, could relax and enjoy the views and being taken care of by them! I wish we had more chances to spend time with his wife and son over dinner or breakfast for an immersive experience. Many hugs!

Cool experience on a floating island.

Property maintenance could have been better. Host Felix wasn't concerned about our airport take off time while he was giving us a boat tour around the area and made us late

First of all, the host's welcome and care - his help and commitment were unprecedented! I felt special during the entire stay, and I also had a wonderful boat trip around the Uros Islands with an amazing host guide.

It’s a little, really comfortable cabin on the lake with a fantastic host

Nothing, everything was great!

The host was very informative and attentive to the needs. He arranged for a cab to pick us up from the bus stop, and arrived at the jetty in his small boat to take us to the lodge. The weather was cold, stormy and waters were choppy - he did his best to assure us and bring us to the floating lodge in a safe manner. Hot water bottles go long way to keep you warm under a pile of blankets. He also gave us the tour of Uros the next morning, when it was clear weather and sunshine. They serve great vegetarian meal and breakfast, which was amazing.

Weather! Too much wind, rain and storm/thunders meant we had to lock down the room and stay indoors. Did not get a chance to observe the great sky and milky way and/or sunset/sunrise. So check your weather reports before you book! However, on flip side its quite an adventure if you like bit of thrill and rough weather.

Felix was such a great host. He cared about us very much, organized the transportation and showed us the life and the history of the Uros. The view over the lake from the apartments are incredible and it’s very relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for taking some days off.

Felix & his family were abundantly welcoming. The entire experience was a memory for a lifetime as Felix invited us to live like Uros locals in his humble abode. Beyond the 10/10 hospitality, Felix was also extremely knowledgable and was generous enough to impart his wisdom upon us through an educational visit around town. The rooms were unbelievably comfortable, Felix ensured we were warm at night, and the meals were some of the best we had in Peru. Highly recommended!

It was a unique experience staying in the lodge on the island. Féliz , our host, catered to our every need - providing canoes for our use, taxiing us to another island for lunch, taking us all around the island in his boat explaining the history - and all in all making it a great experience.
