Frida's Cottage Whitby

A really cute, old little cottage close to the centre of Whitby. Loads of charm and character. The beds were really comfortable and a nice complementary breakfast selection was provided. Kitchen well stocked with all the essentials - tea, coffee etc. it’s tight with steep stairs but they do warn you of this and that just adds to the charm of this old house. A lot of love has gone into this property

It’s right opposite a pub with live music until gone midnight and then punters chatting and smoking outside until the small hours. The bedrooms are at the front so this kept us awake, especially if it’s warm and you have the windows open. It’s also really hard to find, Google maps has it on the wrong location and I didn’t get any instructions from the host. It took about 15 mins walking up and down to find it. Finally, the wifi was utterly terrible. It runs off a 4G dongle and the reception isn’t great, especially with the thick walls, so I couldn’t even connect to my phone. It didn’t connect at all the first day. I messaged the host and asked them to come check it but unfortunately they declined to do anything. It did connect the second day but was very slow, barely sufficient for light browsing. There’s no TV so if you want to download anything to watch, forget it!

Quirky little cottage. Great location. The hosts are brilliant. Answer any questions immediately, and even put up birthday banners and left a gift, as they knew we were celebrating. Will definitely use again 👍🏻👍🏻

Every little detail. Having read about Frida Kahlo who delved into themes of identity, the body and the pain depicting her struggles after polio and later an accident, also gender and class, this mum and daughter team have gone all out to bring in the fierce, fiesty and passionate guest house. Hispanic bright bold colors enhance your photos and fun. Comfy beds Lovely thoughts in every nook. Visually gorgeous. Bright and cheery. Books, puzzles, coloring in books if weather is not great. Convenient to exploring surrounds. Restaurants and shops nearby Parking offsite however close to Fridas. Basket of breakfast provisions for am. Milk in fridge. Bakery alongside Fridas for early morning fresh products.

The fact we had to leave to continue our journey. 1 night was insufficient.

Wow had a fantastic stay at Freida's cottage, it has such a homely atmosphere. loved everything about it I wished I had booked a longer stay.

Lovely cottage - great location in a fabulous part of town . Couple of minutes walk to seafront .... few metres to pub , shops , wine bars etc & almost next door to a famous Whitby bakery/deli ! Cottage is unique! The owners have put so much thought & clearly - love ❤️ into every room , without loosing need for great facilities. Beds were so very comfortable...reminded us we need a new mattress at home ! So cosy & uplifting....a sanctuary during busy Bank Holiday weekend! Great to just chill or...be artistic , play games , make music or play some vintage tunes on the record player in a little Mexican fiesta style room in the attic with ... Lovely whitby abbey view over rooftops ! We were celebrating 🍾 a birthday....owners went above & beyond ! Birthday banner , chocolates, card & cake 🎂 xxx

Everything as described in details...but def not for anyone with issues on steep stairs - but this is in details .

We loved the location, the amenities, and of course, the character! The milk, breakfast bits and extra touches were appreciated.
