The Great Western Arms

Nice cosy pub with very welcoming staff. Only 4 rooms. Meals in pub vg. Canal next to pub good for a walk. Good location for visiting Banbury, Chipping norton and Bicester. Rooms comfortable and had wide selection of teas,coffee and hot chocolate and were well cleaned.

Perhaps more flexible time for full English breakfast which is 10am. You can have an earlier continental breakfast brought to your room

The room was very very small No hanging space The worst bit was the bright light that would not go off above the door and kept us awake for most of the night

Trainline with frequent service nearby. Plenty of water but shower not the easiest to use.

The twin room was nicely decorated, very clean, and well supplied with refreshments. The beds were comfortable.

We decided to have a cooked breakfast and were told on arrival (i) breakfast needed to be ordered and paid for the day before (ii) cooked breakfast would start at 9.30am (tea, juices, cereal etc) with the actual cooked breakfast being served at 10am. We were also told on arrival that we had to exit the room by 10am for the cleaners. So effectively for us to have a relaxed breakfast we had to clear the room by 9.30am. The exit time came as a surprise as when we booked the room we checked the website at the Great Western Arms which said check out was 11am. This was later even confirmed in an email. Little disappointing. However cooked breakfast was good.

Breakfast was superb value.
