Ohana Surf Guest House

Ohana is an amazing guest house. The rooms are new, nicely decorated, and super clean. Paula, Rudolfo, and Chamill were great hosts and took very good care of us. Paula and the team make a tasty breakfast every morning with lots of options on what you can eat. They are there to support and help you with any questions or requests. The rest of the staff are very sweet, and you feel at home and welcomed as soon as you walk in. Ohana is located right on the coastal road, so you hear the traffic, but as soon as you walk through the door and enter the pool area, you feel secluded and in a little bubble of calm. It's also perfectly located (walking distance) from the busy centre of Ahangama where there is a growing number of amazing restaurants (Le Belle, Cactus, Marshmellow, Unkles and Thileni's were some of our favourites. Also - best of all one of there's a choice of breaks for surfing literally across the road. It will take you 2 min to get into the water.

Paula and her husband are very friendly hosts and always there to help. We enjoyed our stay with them. The place is rather new with simple but cute furnishing and well working AC. The beach is just across the street and many restaurants and beach bars are within walking distance. Would go there again when staying in Ahangama!

Spacious, spotless clean rooms. Good location with beautiful views from the upper floor and the roof top.

Nothing to complain - only the breakfast options are a little bit limited.

Fresh modern high quality rooms with big beds, good ac and all by a lovely pool. Great friendly atmosphere and the hosts are brilliant. Over looks a couple of surf spots and is 5 mins in a Tuk Tuk from lots more. All the family loved it, surfers and non surfers.

Very clean facilities, super nice staff who help sort everything from tours to airport transport.

+ family-like atmosphere + great hosts + whole facility brand new and on European standards (if not even above!) + great surf lessons from very good instructors (best we have had out of 10 courses worldwide) + local guide provides good service and recommendations

We had a lovely stay at Ohana, the location is great, the rooms are super nice and they clean the rooms everyday. The owners are so kind and helpful and really creates a warm and heartful vibe for the guests. They also offer surf lessons. Great place to stay as a couper but also family o friendgroup.

No fridge on the room, but other than that it was perfect

The rooms were the best we had during our whole trip in Sri Lanka. The hostel is very new, the rooms are big, very clean and the bed was super comfortable and huge. The mosquito net and the aircondition were perfect to get a nice and calm sleep. You can meet at least Paula during the whole breakfast time and ask her any questions or just send her a message. We loved it and would definitely come back!

We've had a very good stay at Ohana Surf House. Rooms are clean, spacious, with an silence air conditioner... Swimming pool is Great, and there is a little outdoor shower we enjoyed when we were back from the beach. The rooftop is amazing and offers a great view, allowing to see the line up. I have to say Paula is a great host, very welcoming. And for some reason, we couldn't arrive the day we booked at the hotel. She arranged us to change our booking at the last moment. We are very grateful of that.

We have been a little bit surprised about the fact drinkable water is not 24/24 available, Of course there is a drinkable water distributor in the kitchen. But it is closed during the night, and no chance to find any water around if you don't have a bottle in your room. On the other hand, I came to refill a half bottle during the evening, just for the night, and Rudolfo told me I'm not supposed to fill a bottle, and it's only to drink "by the glass". We cannot make a point on this one, especially for the price and the standing of such a place. Becareful with the surf course / photo prices, which are very high (40$), as it's even cheaper in France. Anyway, great stay, lovely places but the water issue needs to be improved
