Palmeras del Río HOTEL

The staff including Luis and Victor were really excellent, professional, friendly and went above and beyond. Balloo the dog was great. The food was very tasty with plenty of vegetables/salad and fruit. We had read that there isn't a lot to do along the river but we did not think this was true, if you like kayaking there are loads of different options to keep you occupied for much longer than we were there for (3 nights). It was really easy to organise kayak rental and trips on lanchas via the hotel the night before. There was WiFi. Would return.

The shower was cold but to be honest you are halfway down a river so this seemed fair enough.

The staff was wonderful and the accommodation and facilities were amazing.

I had a difficult time communicating with them on internet.

Lovely staff and food. Well organised with boat transport to get to and from the accommodation. We spent a lovely day kayaking on the river. Common areas are super!

The rooms themselves are pretty basic. For the price though, it’s what you would expect.

Staff prepared a lovely diner everyday for those staying at the hotel, which was absolutely amazing! Vegetarian and vegan options possible as well.

The Hotel is located directly in the jungle, which is a very special experience. The staff (Luis, Victor) is amazing, very friendly and Always eager to Help. There are also three cute Cats and a very nice Dog (Balu). There is plenty of space and the food is delicious. Prices are reasonable and fair, given that there is No shop or Restaurant around.

Take enough Cash with you because when we were there the Card terminal was Out of order.

Luis is an amazing helpful host. We had the BEST food at Roundhouse during our 3 week stay in Guatemala. Very nice sunset as well. The dock at the river is excellent for relaxing. Booked originally for 2 nights and stayed 4. The surrounding is very peacefull and quiet and we really loved this place.

We had great time at Round house hotel. The location is beautiful, just beside the river and our bungalow was in the middle of the jungle. The setting is very relaxing, surrounded by nature. We were warmly welcomed by Luis who also helped us organise our activities on the river and really took care of us. We were kayaking along the river, visited Livingston and Playa Blanca. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. Hotel well worth spending holidays!

If you are coming from Rio Dulce Town, the last lancha to the hotel is at 14.30. We came later and had to pay much more expensive private boat (400Q) to get to our destination. Synthetic linen in the bedrooms :( Everything else was perfect!
