Luxury Lake View House

Good location, had all we required.

Spa pool was not working.

Awesome view from the living room, lived in so most of the amenities are already present. Kids loved the outdoor space to play in.

Confused people looking for the other property on site. House not so great in winter.

The rooms are very conformable. The kitchen has everything we need. Beautiful house in and out. Love it!

Amazing house with a wonderful view of the lake. The house has its own unique style and you can see the care of the owners and their relationship to the place. Beautiful place, we would come back anytime!

The location and layout of the house were fantastic

The laundry being full of used towels and a shortage of clean towels on arrival was disappointing. Based on everything else, I'm guessing this was an exception to their normal standard.

Many places on our trip were extremely basic, just for renting out for short stays only. Luxury Lake House was not one of these places, it is obviously a private holiday home that the owners use themselves regularly. Location, fittings, finish and amenities were top quality with many personal touches from the owners and everything we could possibly need for our stay. It is not a cheap place to stay but just as an example of what you get, the shower head alone would have cost around one night's stay (never experienced one like it before, 400mm Grohe Rainshower) and there are two indoor living areas, one semi indoor living area that opens to an outdoor living area as well as an astronomy telescope to take advantage of the designated dark sky location (unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate for us). Internet speed was also good. Strangely for a place this large, there is only 1.5 bathrooms so we had to share a single shower but the amazing view and perfect location (clear views across the lake, quiet street but easy walking distance to the shops) more than made up for it. The kitchen is huge and has everything (although tablets for the dishwashers - yes plural, had been missed initially but was quickly sorted). If we get another chance to visit the South Island again, booking this property will be the first thing we do, the whole family loved it. I am glad it was the last place we stayed before flying home as everything else would have been a disappointment if we started our trip here.
