our fan stopped working when we plugged it back in but he showed us a trick the next day to pull it our slightly from the plug and then it works (just a tip if this happens to you also). the only other thing that would be great is a non-fluorescent side lamp.

Great location, Sigiriya Rock entrance is around 15 min walk. Friendly and welcoming host. Good homemade breakfast.

No wifi. The smell of perfume in the room was very strong, I couldn't get it out.

This is a village home with a 2 room homestay. The rooms are close to the main home with a large family. So it gets very noisy particularly in the evening when music is played. The room is very old and in poor condition. Bed Linen, walls are full of stains. The bathroom was particularly bad. Firstly no hot water is available. Secondly poor lighting with no natural light. Third the shower and taps are very old with poor stream. The bathroom was full of all kinds of insects like ants, earthworm and other worms too. There was a lizard there. Lastly the homestay offered to provide a pick up from the airport. The charge was higher than the airport cabs. The car was so tiny that the luggage couldn't fit and had to cram inside. What was worse was that the car was so old and broken that within 20 minutes the car broke down. I had to arrange a new car on the pickme app. So a comfortable journey turned into a horrible experience.
