I enjoyed Coniston village and the lake. The village inns are great such good coffee, beer and plenty of different places to choose from. The hostel is great for respite from the challenging walks.

Location to village and hills.

I booked for 2 nights and mistakenly booked a women's only dorm .I wasn't able to get a refund even though it was the following day I found out and they still had time to fill the booking. They did however find me a bed for the second night so all was not lost😀

Everything was perfect. Arrived early but was allowed to enter and relax. A warm welcome from a lovely lady ... unfortunately didn't ask her name. She also prepared breakfast next morning and it was excellent! For £9.95 there was unlimited full English and cold buffet unlimited tea coffee juices. Amazing for the cost. I was first in the room and she made time to chat with me which was lovely. The place has it all. £22 i paid and a fantastic breakfast in an amazing place. Kitchen excellent. Rooms spotless, bed comfy. The only 1 negative thing I can think of is the lounge was very cold. It would have been nice to have a few blankets or the heating on in the evening. I understand though due to cost. Thank you for youre hospitality. I'll be sure to be back !
