Animal View Point Yala

Our stay at the tree house in Animal View Point is one of the biggest memories that we brought with us from Sri Lanka. The views are unbelievable beautiful. Sunrise and sunsets were something from another world, there is so much life awakening everywhere. I can’t think in a better place (both the tree house and surroundings) to stay if you like birding. Also, there is even a shower in the tree house! Bed was perfect, the room was clean and fresh at night (we barely used the provided fan) and it had every amenity we needed. Staff was friendly, helpful and fantastic people. Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious home-made Sri Lankan food, we did enjoy every bite of it. Also, every single spot of the hotel was carefully planned and thought, everything sustainable and coming from local business. I’d recommend this place to absolutely anyone that is looking for an authentic and real experience in Yala. We will definitely come back if we have the opportunity to.

Amazing location just outside Yala Park boundary. Surrounded by nature....awake in a tree house (really really) to the sound of peacocks calling. An eco- conscious family business and the family are just great. Couldn't be more helpful and friendly.

A little bit of a drive to the actual park entrance, but really not a problem because when you organise the safari they pick you up at your door..

This place is amazing!! Truly a hidden gem in Yala National Park. The owner is so nice and friendly and went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience (which we did!) Our first night he took us on a nighttime nature walk and gave us info about the area. It was beautiful walking underneath the stars and seeing the firefly tree. We even spotted a Rusty-Spotted Cat! They arranged a safari for us the next day which was the highlight of our trip in Sri Lanka. Everything was perfect and we saw lots of buffalo, elephants (with their babies), the elusive leopard and even a black bear! We stayed in the tree house and it was such a cool experience being among the treetops and taking in the incredible views. The bed was comfortable, there was hot water in the shower with shampoo & conditioner and bug spray provided. We stayed 2 nights and wish it were longer. The grounds are beautiful and the food provided is healthy and absolutely delicious with an emphasis on local cuisine. The highlight was getting to plant our own tree on the property. We still keep in touch with the owner (it’s been a month so far) and he gives us updates on our tree. Cannot say enough great things about this place. Highly recommend staying here for a true authentic safari experience!!! There are also 2 very cute and sweet dogs that they rescued which I loved!

Great hospitality! We learned a lot about the local culture and wildlife. Also amazing local food. Shashika took a lot of time for us and organised everything we asked for. The location is exceptional! The treehouse is super cool!

Everything was great!

Shashika rolled out the red carpet for us, we couldn’t have felt more welcomed when we stayed with our 10 years old son. We had an amazing stay at animal view point, from the welcome apple wood drink to the Sri Lankan cookies his mother made for our son. Shashika even took us on a night walk where we saw fire flys light up the trees, spectacular! Dinner was incredible too, his mother made an authentic Sri Lankan meal which was beautiful. Shashika even organised the safari for us which was incredible, leopards, elephants, crocodiles and more! We had a great time at Animal Viewpoint couldn’t recommend enough.

I would describe our stay with one word: Memorable. The pictures only give you little insight of how incredible is this place. We loved staying at Shashika’s property. It’s a beautiful and well cared love nest. The design is unique and it matched perfectly our “safari wild” mood. The location is perfect if you want to live an extraordinary experience into the wild. We slept in the tree house and it was just perfect and super clean and honestly it’s the first tree house we’ve e been with the toilet and the shower connected to the room. It’s been amazing sleeping by the sounds of the wild jungle. Shashika’s mom cooked for us an incredible traditional dinner and Shashika was always there for any need. We built here such a beautiful memories that will stay with us forever. Thank you Shashika for being part of it. The day after, we experienced the safari tour organized by the property and we ended our stay just perfectly.

We loved everything from the first moment we arrived. We have been impressed by all the perfect details of this place and by the kindness and dedication of the host.

We truly enjoyed our experience sleeping two nights at the tree house. The place is authentic and it’s just next to the border of Yala national park. For people who are looking for true Sri Lankan countryside experience near the jungle, this is the place for you! Excellent traditional Sri Lankan dishes cooked by their great chef complete your stay. The place can arrange great safari experience for you, including packed breakfast and having a private driver. If you are lucky enough your safari guide might be the first person who spotted the black leopard in Yala! We had his brother and he was also a great guide spotting many animals from crocodiles to elephants and smaller creatures of the park for us. He managed to find fresh leopard’s footprints, but this time we didn’t see a sight of wild cats. The owner is wonderful person who makes you feel like at home!

We didn’t find anything to complain. The place is remote and in our rating we have considered that the place is for persons who are nature-oriented and looking for authentic experience.

The place is fairly new (it was just 8 months old when we stayed there) so you can see it has been taken care of and it feels fresh. The owner Shashika was very helpful, polite, and thoughtful. The food was also one of the best we had in Sri Lanka, prepared by Shashika and his mom. It was a valentine's day and we even got some presents 😁 If you are looking for a calm and peaceful place in Yala in the wild among animals this is the place to go.

This hotel is close to the National Park Yala. So if you are looking for a calm accomodation in the wild, this is a perfect place. The owner is very helpful. After we returned from safari we had a delicious lunch cooled by owner’s mom.
