Villa Kamaya, Chamarel

It was perfect location, owners have equipped villa with all necessary things, everything was clean and very cosy, fireplaces excellent.

- Owners were very responsive and check-in and check out were easy. Our apologies for delaying the scheduled arrival time but the Black River Gorges National Park on the way was so beautiful that we couldn’t help stopping to admire the views and waterfalls. - Spacious and tastefully decorated villa with extensive indoor and outdoor lounging areas - our group of 7 had more than enough space. - Huge kitchen fully stocked with utensils and appliances as well as a starter kit of oil, salt, pepper, Nespresso pods, tea, etc. - View from the villa was fantastic. Green hills all around and we even saw deer on a couple of days. - Several restaurants nearby but they all close early by 3-4pm so plan your day accordingly. Road towards Choisy is completely unlit at night so if heading out or back in evening, better to take the La Gaulette side instead of Choisy. - Proximity to Black River Gorges National Park. The Petrin visitor centre is 30 min drive and has several hiking trails. The Black River Peak trail and Alexandra Falls trails are 20 min drives. - 5 min drive to Seven Coloured Earths, Chamarel Waterfall and Ebony Forest. The hike to Sublime Point was incredible. - Low light pollution makes this location ideal for star gazing - we were treated with stunning star and Milky Way views almost every night. - Owners have left useful info about house rules, restaurants and sightseeing in a booklet and on a bulletin board for easy reference. Housekeeping available at an additional fee, but we did not use it. - Dishwasher wasn’t working on the day of arrival but Alice got it fixed within 2 days (and sent someone to clean the dishes in the meantime at no extra cost to us). Insect presence freaked out our city kid, but is expected in a forested area. - No doors on the bathrooms and no locks on bedroom doors (except for the master bedroom and one room without a view) took some getting used to!

Wonderful villa in Chamarel. We were 3 couples. Close to Chamarel rum, ebony forest and a day trip to le Morne. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Kitchen had all the facilities needed, including a dishwasher. The pool was a superb spoil. Weber and charcoal provided. Great views of the deer. Just a wonderful stay and we would love to return.

We don't enjoy pod/nespresso coffee, hence we brought our own coffee plunger.

Nous avons passé un séjour absolument merveilleux à la Villa Kamaya à Chamarel. Le lieu est tout simplement exceptionnel : paisible, entouré de nature, avec une vue à couper le souffle sur les montagnes et la forêt. Une sérénité rare y règne… on a simplement envie de s’asseoir, de respirer et de profiter pleinement de l’instant. Amoureuse de la nature, j’ai été profondément touchée par cette atmosphère. Les chambres sont très confortables, avec une literie excellente, et la villa est parfaitement adaptée pour un séjour en famille. Nous étions huit et tout était fluide, agréable et harmonieux. Un immense merci à Alice et Alex, les propriétaires, qui sont d’une grande gentillesse, très accueillants, à l’écoute, et qui réservent de délicates attentions qui font toute la différence. Les photos sur Booking.com sont déjà magnifiques, mais la réalité dépasse largement les attentes : c’est encore plus beau, encore plus impressionnant en vrai. Nous avons eu la chance d’avoir du beau temps, mais aussi un moment de pluie, qui a apporté encore plus de charme à l’expérience… avant de laisser place à nouveau au soleil. Entre le lever du soleil exceptionnel, les moments de méditation, la piscine et ces instants précieux en famille, tout était réuni pour vivre un moment de qualité, dans le calme et la sérénité. Un lieu magique, que nous recommandons sans hésiter.

Magnifique villa dans un cadre authentique au milieu des montagnes et d’un chassé! Accueil parfait des propriétaires. À refaire, entre amis, familles avec ou sans enfants.
