Meadowsweet @ Laneside

Rural location but central to get to North Yorks Coast and the iconic Whitby Abbey. Greeted by a fawn on arrival and a barn owl the next morning. Our room, Meadowsweet, was spacious with everything you could need. The bed was comfy and we loved the home baked loaf of bread each morning that you can toast in your room with a great choice of jams and spreads plus yoghurt and fruit in your own fridge. Katy gave us ideas of where to visit and the info folder had lots of helpful tips too. Thanks for a lovely stay.

It was lovely and clean and very comfy

It was a little bit out of the way.

We were made to feel very welcome and at home at Meadowsweet. Our room was spotlessly clean, cosy, and had everything we needed to make our stay comfy. The breakfast provided was excellent, yogurts, porridge, freshly baked bread and homemade jam and marmalade... delicious!

The property was superb. The bed super comfy and the fresh home made bread included with the breakfast so tasty. The views from the house are lovely and the quiet tranquil countryside something that appealed to us. The hosts were very friendly.

Essentials provided in the room. Fresh daily loaf. Room and shower were very clean. TV Freesat.

Bed creaked every time you turned over. A dog in the property barked many times during stay. 615 am one morning, Got in early one night, Dog barking, crying from 9pm for 40 minutes. Basically you are renting a bedroom for the night. As it’s attached to the owners landing and stairs. Told by owners before visiting they were unaffected by the fires. Room used as a base For surrounding area, still Lots of road closures around and a lot of extra driving, unable to visit planned walks and a waterfall due to this. Although breakfast a change from cooked. Didn’t feel varied enough.

A very friendly welcome, room was very clean and the location was beautiful.

It was lovely being in the middle of the country side but only 20 min drive to Whitby
