Great location in the centre of a peaceful village. Excellent evening cuisine. Friendly staff who took trouble to make us feel at home and deal with our requests.

We found the bed rather uncomfortable (probably needs a new mattress). The shower in our room didn't work but there was a bath. However, these points did not concern us unduly as we greatly enjoyed staying at the George Inn. The breakfast choice could be improved upon.

The George is a beautiful old property with a lot of history. The pub is amazing. It has a fabulous atmosphere, and was a lovely base to spend a weekend in the Forest of Dean. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. The beams added their own charm to the room, but it was also modern and well decorated. The landlord and the manager were very welcoming, and couldn’t do enough for us. We particularly enjoyed hearing about the history of the pub. We didn’t get the chance to eat at the pub, because we were going out with friends, but the food looked amazing. We will have to return to try it in the near future.

I don’t have any criticisms of the property.

Good location - easy parking and staff were generally good. Good shower.

A tiny room (the bed was OK) with an equally tiny shower room. Room clean enough though requires renovation and was very cold. Didn't bother with breakfast - a continental breakfast left in a fridge in the corridor isn't really satisfactory with the cost of the room. The stay was OK, but really overpriced - I'm afraid I can't recommend it and we won't stay there again.
