Mariella's Guest House

We stayed for a week at Mariellas and it was a great base to explore Siquijor. Motorcycle to rent, walking distance to Tubod beach, very kind owners and staff, kitchen/fridge available, clean etc

Fantastic location in San Juan with super sweet staff. You can rent scooters on-site, which is really convenient. Our son had a great time playing with the local kids. Plus, Tambayanan restaurant, just 100m away, was amazing—definitely go there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Mariella's Guest House was a nice place to stay. It serves its purpose which is mainly a place to stay for a couple of days and keep your belongings safe while you tour around Siquijor. The lone staff was so nice and accomodating and ensured that we are guided and we have everything we needed from check in down to the moment we checked out. She even helped us book a ride going to the port the morning we left Siquijor. The property was clean and well-maintained.

The only downside I saw while staying here was it's distance from the center of San Juan where most of the nice restaurants, cafes, and bars are located (this is clearly not the management's fault thought). Although this place is only a walking distance from Runik.

Good location, clean, friendly staff

Room felt a bit like a box, shower over toilet and tiny bedroom, but for that price its still good. Felt clean although very old. Lock of the door was hard go close, but my Experience in most philippino homes

They were able to accommodate my whole family. The villa we stayed at was big, had more than enough beds for all of us.

There was just one bathroom and one shower in the room which was encased in glass. Its just me but sharing a room with my whole family of 10, I was kind of iffy taking a shower with everyone in the room. They made available the ones from the ground floor though so that's okay.

Melce is the big bonus of the stay in this super clean guest house. She will go OUT OF HER WAY to please her guests. You can feel that she's not just putting on a show to be pleasant because it's her business, she really has a kind heart. Also, you can't beat the price, real value for money. It was convenient to rent their motorcycles, too.

I would have loved curtains that block out the light and sun (but everybody isn't light sensitive like me). The shower wets the toilet area, which couldn't be helped (this is good to know in advance, to know what to expect). But it's a minor inconvenience when you know you're in a very safe property, and the owner and even her helper, Mercy, are impeccable.

Pleasant place set back from road about 40 minute walk into town. Bed and pillows comfortable.

Room is small but despite this the air con struggled to cool the room. No hot water.
