"Like a dream, we felt very privileged to have been able to experience it"

10.0

Everything was beautiful, the location, the hut itself. The forest was just stunning and to have it all to yourself, it felt like a dream! Swimming in a turquoise pool with the ducks, tadpoles, even a couple of fish. Then returning to a lovely warm cabin. Cooking was easy as the cabin has everything you could need to prepare a meal in the kitchen. The compost loo was cleaner than a lot of public conveniences I have used. Theres no smell at all. Having full access to the property was such a privilege. If you do stay here, go explore. You wont regret it! If you’re lucky enough to have a clear night go look at the stars. It was amazing to see them in a way us city dwellers never get a chance to. Waking up to birdsong and sunlight filtered through a canopy of trees was simply breathtaking. Merav and Janta are superb hosts, fully approachable but also sensitive to the fact that if you have chosen to stay at Sapphire you are looking for a retreat. All in all, we fell in love with the place as soon as we walked down the track and have already planned when we are returning. Thank you so much for sharing Karuna with us.

We loved everything.

Beautiful sunrise in the morning over the the natural pool Listening to the birds and watching the resident ducks..Cooking alfresco, the gas powered shower is amazing after a dip. And to top it off the host’s Merav and Janta were amazing people. We just wished we could of stayed longer it’s magical ✨💫✨ we will definitely be returning..

"Amazing"

9.0

Very relaxing, self efficient & private. Amazing place to forget about the hussle & bussle of everyday life. Really didnt want to leave. Outdoor shower was amazing, hut was very cosy & hosts were very welcoming but left you alone once youd settled. Will definitely return.

Check in time is a little later than wished. But definitely worth the wait due to the hut being cleaned so thoroughly.

"Would be OK in summer but too much money for the facilities provided."

5.0

Cosy little hut set in a nice woodland with a lake. Peaceful location. Fire was warm and wood for the inside fire was provided. The hosts were responsive to issues that arose during or stay.

Both my self and my partner live off grid, we are used to van life and living in non house situations and we both felt a cheated, we could have stayed somewhere much nicer for the money. It was the wrong time of year to stay here, I can imagine it is nicer in the summer, although would still be over priced. The shower was in an open sided barn with no lights. The kitchen was an open sided barn with no lights. The gas cooker was ineffective due to the wind blowing it, cooking and boiling a kettle/heating water took a long time because of this. The hut itself lacked any porch, there was nowhere to take muddy shoes off which made getting in from the muddy wet outside a right palaver. We had to get the hosts to put anti slip materials on the extremely slippy steps after I nearly went flying off them. The bedding was also not up to scratch for somewhere charging £87 a night. Pillows and duvet were old and wafer thin, an extra duvet was provided but no covers were provided for this. The hut is set just past the main house, the hosts were funny about us parking our cars outside the hut and made us park the car we were using a few of minutes up the track once unloaded, annoying when you are coming back from walking wet and cold wanting to get in the dry. They even parked their 4 track in the gate one night to make sure we couldn't get our car by the hut. Since there was plenty of space by the hut and the drive was a track (not muddy lane) we felt that it was odd we weren't able to drive on it. It made us feel like they didn't actually want guests there and made it inconvenient. The hut/kitchen/water/toilet required an amount of walking between them, this would be less of an issue if it was better weather but the ground was slippy and nipping to boil a kettle was risky business and nipping to the loo or to get water meant getting wet and cold, it would be nice if they at least supplied a brolly.

"Words can't quite explain it... though I've tried because I'm a poet at heart 😊"

10.0

This is our second time staying at Sapphire and it never disappoints. It's the kind of place that just has a way of reminding us about the important things in life such as connecting to one another more than we do the internet; Getting in touch with nature and reminding ourselves that we are nature; Being fully present with each other and with ourselves; Remembering the simple pleasures and what life was always meant to be like and should be like for all of us and that's just the start. It was amazing to experience life fully and be aware of how resourceful we can be. This was our sixth wedding anniversary and it was so good to reconnect with each other without the distractions of everyday life. We love it here and you will too (if you embrace it;)
