Palazzo Arcidiacono - luxury holidays

Appartement magnifique, bien situé au cœur de Catane. Livio et son père ont été incroyables, ils nous ont aidé énormément avec les stationnements et ils étaient toujours disponibles pour nos questions.

This is a beautiful and unique property. We loved the art, the view from the roof terrace, and how spacious the apartment was for the four of us. It feels like a very special place to stay as the hosts are exceptionally welcoming and thoughtful. The location is perfect too - both for seeing sites in Catania itself but also for getting out to places like Taormina, Syracuse and Aci Trezza (it is very close to the buses and taxis and about a 20 minute walk to the train station). It was a joy to stay here, especially because of the little touches like the books about Sicily in the sitting room.

Our host Livio was charming and extremely hospitable. He learned our flight was arriving extremely early at 5:30 am, and he did not rent out the palazzo the night before our arrival so we could check in asap. We rented a car ( the rental agency wasn't open until 8 am, so travelers know) and Livio met us at a parking lot that he prearranged for us at our request. He then walked us to the palazzo while informing us of the historical places we should visit. The palazzo was STUNNING. It was full of historical charm and elegance. It was very clean, more than expected considering its age. The bathrooms were super clean as well! The balconies and rooftop allowed us to take in our surroundings while sipping the espresso. Huge rooms, tall ceilings with intricately detailed art adorning them. We felt very grateful to have stayed in such a lovely palazzo. Livio also maintained great communication with us and answered all the questions we had. From a very comfortable family of four: Definitely recommend!!

If we stayed longer than 3 days, toilet paper would have needed to be purchased. Not necessarily a con for us, but we stayed on the top floor which was multiple sets of stairs and could be difficult for some.

It was surreal, its like you enter in a museum, in a bourgeois house / palazzo ❤️ high ceiling 5-6m above you extremely well decorated, check the pictures below. best is that the owner Livio tried to preserved the old style as much as possible, sofas, cupboard, walls, everything is giving you impression you go back in time. Not only that, but it is also very well situated, in the middle of the center of Catania, easy walk to coffee shops and restaurants. The owner was also very responsive and any request we had or advice, Thanks 🙏 PS. may be a small advice, the single beds could have been 1,5 person beds 120-140cm, but this would not change my overall experience 👌🏽

The location is really great. Walking everywhere. We were met on arrival at the appartment which was friendly and helpful. The appartment is an old elegant beauty. Very high decorated ceilings. Beds were comfortable. Room sizes generous. A sweet roof top terrace. The showers work well with hot water. The kitchen is a neat hub. We ate out as so many places on the doorstep. Fresh fruit juice made in the street every morning. The host was very helpful at all times. Eg we needed more blankets (stayed in February) so they delivered within hours.

Like most old buildings here the sewage pipes are probably old and narrow. Toilet paper cannot be put down the loo. This is very normal and standard but is an adjustment.

Beautiful palazzo apartment with high ceilings and vintage frescoes — charming and elegant. Comfortable amenities for our family of five. Great location in the heart of Catania’s historic district, surrounded by cafes and restaurants, less than five minute walk to the Duomo. Livio and his father were gracious hosts, helpful and welcoming. We loved our stay!

The apartment is in the inner centre, excellent location right next to all sights and nice restaurants and bars. It is very clean, cosy and spacious. Livio and his family are extremely friendly, helpful and caring for their guests. Excellent hosts.
