The decor, the location, the helpfulness of the host and his father, the spaciousness of the rooms and the beds were very comfortable. The walk in shower was a boon.

Because of the very central location, it gets noisy in the night. But the windows and doors are modern and well insulated.

Historic building. Beautiful touches. Spacious. Extremely comfortable beds. Quiet. Fabulous location. Do not be afraid of the pictures showing the market below. It is charming, safe and very very quiet. Could not have a better host. Livio gave us great recommendations. Allowed us to check in before time and to stay until suitable for us to go.

Everything was perfect

I was welcomed by a friendly owner at a historic accommodation. He graciously responded to my many requests. I will gladly use it again in the future.

Exceptional experience. A 160 m2 romantic 19th century apartment, in a palazzo that dates back much longer. High ceilings with original paintings and romantic chandeliers, and very nice furniture. We could imagine how residents and service staff lived und worked at the very same location some 150 years ago. The residents within their living areas and staff along the corridor with direct access to the rooms rendering the necessary service to their Signori at that time. We enjoyed the apero at the golden living room and relaxed at the spacious double bedrooms. We climbed the steep and narrow stairs to the spacious rooftop terrace, which was probably used more for drying laundry by staff in recent centuries. Nowadays it offers a view over the old city and is equipped for sunbathing or cardplaying for the residents. Looking back to old times the previous residents most likely traders of Catania and used the rooms on the lower floors as warehouses/sales rooms. Higher up there probably were storage facilities and offices, and upstairs the living rooms of the family. It's amazing how preserved the way of life back then is when moving up and down the stairs. We reached the scenic landmarks in the city center of Catania barely using public transport. Most of the locations were within walking distance. An excellent breakfast just round the corner where the waiter knew the following day what we had ordered the previous day. Lunch and dinner and snacks all around the fish market where we tasted fresh and local food. The owner and his son were extremely nice and helpful. Questions were answered within minutes. We opted for a privat parking location within 5 min (mind narrow access and maneuvering: better park your XXL SUV elsewhere). Overall a very interesting and extremely enjoyable stay in the very hart of Catania we wholeheartedly recommend this place for guests enjoying to enter into ancient times long gone by and well preserved by the current owners.

Livio the host was extremely helpful, friendly and informative. The property is beautifully decorated and furnished, comfortable and modern yet in keeping with its 1920s origins. Every convenience was supplied, including basics for breakfast and a Gaggia coffee machine! The situation is perfect, in the centre of the old centre, all monuments and shops in walking distance and wonderful fruit, veg, meat and (spectacular) fish markets all nearby. The view from the several balconies is enough to keep guest occupied for hours! Vast choice of restaurants as well - booking advisable for some for winter dinners as indoor space limited. At lunchtime outside is usually fine even in January!

Nothing. Just worth mentioning that the apartment is on the 3rd floor and no lift, so not suitable for those with mobility problems.
