St Margaret's Hope Backpackers Hostel

As far as I could see, St Margaret Hope Backpackers does not exist. I booked expecting to meet other travellers in a hostel. There was no sign on any door indicating there was a "Backpackers" anywhere. I identified the location from text saying it was near the pub. I had to ask a surly resident of another property where to go and got the keys from someone working at the next door pub. The property is misrepresented under the trades descriptions act and the advert should be taken offline.

The fact the advertised property didnt exist. The time spent trying to find it. The fact there was no sink in the bathroom which upset my daily routine to the extent I had gone out for the day when I realised I hadn't cleaned my teeth in the kitchen sink. The appartment had been done out by cowboys. Not even a handle on the shower door

Comfy bed and very clean, fresh rooms

Location to the ferry for an early start the next morning. Had dinner in the Hotel next door and it was excellent, great food and service. Lovely atmosphere.

No sink in the bathroom, had to use the kitchenette sink for brushing my teeth. Not a big deal just unusual.

Such a great set up! The apartment though compact has everything you need - kitchen area, shower room & the bed was so comfy. The location is perfect for the ferry & commuting into Kirkwall for work. I would definitely stay again. The door of the apartment opens onto an adorable little courtyard with picnic tables for the restaurant next door. Parking on the street was no issue. Just a small stroll to the beach. The post office & local shop are close by & everyone was so friendly. I took my dog with me & there were lots of local walks to entertain him.

Genuinely there was nothing I didn’t like.

Great location, post office next door, restaurant across the way, pub ten yards away & two minutes from the ferry port. Very comfortable room & well worth the small price tag

I liked the location and friendliness of people around. Was great to have fresh seafood on your door step.

I think the bathroom fan could;ve been cleaner as it smelt a bit in there. Also, would be good to provide soap. The towels were very cheap. These things are easy fixes.
