The Rowanberry Suite at Rowan Cottage

The localisation is amazing, in a quiet area. The view from the window is astonishing. Everything was clean and tidy and Ruth was a very nice host, always keen to help us if we need anything. We also appreciated the food and drinks let there for us.

Extremely comfortable place, is amazing to get off grid for a few days. Ruth’s hospitality was amazing. The little details were so lovely, from fresh cut flowers and popcorn alongside the DVD collection. Ruth left us so much breakfast and was so kind to stop in and check if we needed anything.

We slightly struggled with the food options, as a lot of the recommended places to eat were only open once a week (not during our stay) and there is only a microwave and toaster, but this is no reflection on the place itself as it is perfect to get off grid.

Very generous breakfast

The road from Broadford was challenging. 15 miles very narrow in parts with passing places very necessary. Lots of potholes. However the cottage was in a beautiful part of the world once you got there.

Cosy, clean little property, breakfast hamper provided with pastries, sachets porridge, jams, butter, juices, yogurt . Little extras around the place.

Ruth was a very welcoming host and provided generous amounts and a wide variety of breakfast options. We had chosen the location ( based on previous visits to the area) so knew we wanted to take the boat to walk Sgur na Stri and visit the Spar cave. The suite was well appointed, cozy and warm with walks from the door and fabulous views across the sea. Lots of local books and maps were really helpful. Ruth- thank you!

There was very little to not like! Perhaps clear instructions for the television and a grab rail for stepping out of the Bath/shower but these are minor things!

The host left us a lot of food in the apartment that was enough for all the breakfasts. The hostess is very cordial. The view to the lake from the living room window is amazing. The location is close to the boat harbor where you can get a sea tour to loch Coruisk.

the disadvantage of the apartment location is the distance to the centers of Skye. the apartment is far from Broadford and the road to there is extremely poor.

It is truly a hidden gem. When you travel from Broadford to Elgol and then beyond it may seem far off on the narrow winding road. But once you reach, you don’t want to leave.
