Riad Macan Exclusive and Trendy Chich Breakfast incl

El alojamiento es muy bonito, está dentro de la Medina, y tiene todo lo que puedes necesitar. Sanaà viene por la mañana y te prepara un desayuno buenísimo. No tiene piscina pero la ducha en la azotea al aire libre es un buen remedio. Está nuevo y diseñado con muy buen gusto.

We stayed at Riad Macan Exclusive and Trendy Chic this October, and unfortunately, it was not the relaxing, hospitable experience we expected. I’ve never written such a long review before, but the series of issues we faced need to be shared so other travellers know what to expect. We landed in Marrakech around 9 a.m., and quickly found out we could not even leave our luggage at the riad before 11 a.m. Apparently, bags can only be dropped off after previous guests check out and rooms are cleaned. So if you arrive early, unless lucky plan to walk around with your bags until your 4 p.m. check-in — which isn’t ideal after a long flight. At check-in we were told to pay city tax (€2.50 per person per night). Fair enough — except they charged us for six people, even though only five of us actually travelled, simply because our original booking had six guests. From the start, the service felt cold and indifferent. Small things like toilet paper were left unattended — One room had one toilet roll for the duration of the stay (17-20 Oct) but we didn’t even feel comfortable asking for more. Breakfast was another let-down. On the 18th, four of us left early for a 5 a.m. hot-air-balloon tour, so only one person stayed for breakfast. What was served was nothing like the photos online — just bread, butter, cheese, jam, yogurt, and a roll. The leftovers from that day were put into the fridge. The next morning, when we requested breakfast at 7 a.m. because our next activity started at 8 a.m., they refused, saying breakfast that was far too early. Breakfast only begins after 9am. They promised to leave something in the fridge, but there was nothing new — only the old leftovers. We left hungry again. Ironically, when we came back around 7 p.m. that night, there was suddenly fresh breakfast food and cake waiting in the fridge — hours too late.

Nos encontramos varias cucarachas.

Riad muy grande, ideal para grupos o familias, hay mucho espacio y todas las habitaciones tienen baño. Cocina muy bien equipada y desayuno riquísimo y abundante. Céntrico, fácil de encontrar y a pocos minutos de la plaza principal. Sin duda, este Riad es excepcional.

L’endroit

The interior of the Riad is stunning and very comfortable. Love the sitting room and the roof top. Everything is perfect including the breakfast service and the lady who cooked the breakfast was absolutely brilliant. Love the breakfast that she cooked.

The check in process is really confusing, first of all the address on BOOKING.COM is wrong so I ended up getting lost. I had to use Google Map to search for the Riad name and got to the hotel. On BOOKING.COM it says check in time from 16:00, trying to contact the representative but no respond, until almost 16:30 then I got a reply but apparently they don’t have the key and said it will take no more than 10 mins to get the key. It ends up I had to chase up until 17:45 before I can check in to the place. Also they will chase for the extra tourist tax for 2.5 Euro per person per day, which other hotels included as part of the final price, but Riad Macan charged as extra

Centrally located in the Medina. Place was very clean and staff helpful. Yummy breakfast. Definitely recommend.

In back alley and dirty to get back there. No curb side drop off and have to roll bags t get back there. Once we found location it was great!

Todo es perfecto. Trato del personal, limpieza, desayuno, amplitud, comodidad, ubicación...

Que está mal señalizado para encontrarlo. La puerta no tiene placa ni señal de que ahí está el Riad. Nos perdimos para encontrarlo. Una vez das con él ya no hay problema.

So the property was definitely as the images portrayed. That is the best I can say about this riad. And the location was very convenient.

The first night the electric turned off, as did the AC. Baring in mind the weather was 44ish degrees. We contacted the hosts via WhatsApp and they told us how to turn the electric back on which was via a switchboard located the ground floor. The electric kept on switching off repeatedly, as many as 7 times an hour so we all did not have a good night sleep. We were informed that we had too many appliances plugged in sockets but this was not true as I decided to test it out and the electric still turned off with only 2 appliances on. I informed the hosts this, via whatsapp, who gave no reply. For breakfast, the coffee pot was broken (I have uploaded a picture) and the breakfast was basic. We were told that the ‘chef’ was the same person as the cleaning lady. The cleaning lady did not clean our rooms at all!! Infact I had to contact the hosts and ask them to ask the cleaning lady to empty our bin bags on the 4th day, to which they replied that the cleaning lady had not read the messages. On the 5th day the cleaning lady came around asking if we needed our bin bags changing. The toilets are insanely small. As someone who is vertically challenged (5’ 0.5in’) I struggled to fit into the toilets as there was barely any space. The WiFi was very very patchy, did not work at all so not sure why it was advertised as with WiFi when it did not work at all. After messaging the hosts on WhatsApp relentlessly, one of them finally visited us to check the electric as it was repeatedly turning off during the day and night. I think the longest the electric stayed on was perhaps 1 hour. The host came and then informed us that we should have our AC on no higher than 16 Degrees. we did this and yet the electric still turned off repeatedly. There was no difference. The AC began to leak one day. We informed the hosts who sent someone to drill a hole in the wall. Granted this did work but still it was a strange thing to do.
