Sea Sand Resort

If you never been to Kalpitiya, it has a sense of being on the outskirts of civilization. Here you stay nestled among the houses of the locals and share the beach with its fishermen. Beside great kite- and windsurfing (and endless beaches of course), there is not a ton of things to do in Kalpitiya. Scuba diving is good, when there is visibility. Dolphin watching is also a possible activity, but quite an expensive one that last a couple of hours. You won’t find any city center with shops, bars and restaurants near, but you can of course visit other resorts and use their facilities. However you should know that you have a very good restaurant on site if you stay at the Sea Sand Resort! This establishment is made up of about 10 small bungalows with a restaurant. The bungalows are quite basic, but very clean and comfortable and represents good value for money. Within about 10 minutes or more on foot, you can reach surf schools and beaches. From my own experience I can promise that you will be very well taken care off if you chose to stay at Sea Sand Resort.

You will get short power outs, WiFi is sometimes reasonable and sometimes not working at all, mosquitoes are frequent in this area (and country)... A bit basic, but what you will need to have a comfortable stay.

Price was ok for the area

Dinner not available on arrival, its necessary to prebook. Room was clean but bathroom was not. No hot water. Breakfast only available after 8am.

Nice clean room with mosquito net and ac, adorable dogs and cats around.

It would be nice to have a furniture to put our bags on inside the room, instead of the floor, and to be clearly informed of the working hours of the kitchen. The nearby beach is unfortunately very eroded so you need to walk a little further to get to an actual sand strip.

Sabina and her partner were such lovely hosts! They were very helpful with any request we had and they also cooked such a delicious food!!! The room was cozy and clean. Overall, we loved our experience at this place! I wish we can go back :)

More places to store clothes and jackets would be nice. Maybe put a picture on the wall to optimise the stay.
