The property is beautiful. Full of history. So clean. Breakfast was impeccable and the staff so friendly.

Very good location

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, paying around £200 per night for what is advertised as a five-star experience. Unfortunately, our stay fell well below expectations. The room itself was acceptable, but several aspects of the service were disappointing. We had breakfast included, yet were not informed that only filtered coffee was part of this offering. Any specialty coffee, such as cappuccinos, came at an additional charge. For a hotel of this supposed standard, this felt unnecessarily restrictive and poorly communicated. More concerning, however, was a serious lapse in security. On one day, we left the room around noon, properly closed the door, and handed the key to reception. Housekeeping later serviced the room but failed to lock it afterwards. As a result, the room remained unlocked and accessible for the entire day. Given that we had valuables inside—including a wallet and jewellery—this was extremely worrying and completely unacceptable. Additionally, the hotel does not replenish bottled water after the initial supply on arrival. For the price being charged, basic amenities like daily water refills should be standard. Overall, the experience did not reflect the level of quality or care expected from a “five-star hotel”,and due to these issues—especially the security concern—we feel justified in giving this stay a three-star rating.
