It would have been nice to have table and chairs for the garden. Also we were unable to locate the washing line.

The only thing i would say is to put mouse / bed bug killer sachets out of reach of children as it’s currently in a bottom drawer in the kitchen .

Views from the property, especially the window seat in the lounge, are outstanding. Fabulous views across to the Isle of Arran and an everchanging seascape depending on the weather - very conducive to relaxation. Property is spacious with a lovely large lounge area. Very quiet location and a good variety of walks from the property without having to take the car. The property owner gave very detailed information in the initial booking confirmation email and was also very quick to respond when we struggled to get the TV channels.

I appreciate that the owner of the property is remote and therefore has to rely on a third-party for the cleaning/maintenance. We arrived in mid-November and the heating wasn't on - took quite some time to warm the house up. Some of the soft furnishings are definitely in need of replacing; ie, the rug in the lounge had a bare patch and the fibres came loose when you walked over it; Roman blinds in the lounge bay window didn't raise properly and you had to push them up whilst operating the cord; bathroom windows and downstairs bedroom window had some black mould on them - and on the window frames. Paint peeling on the downstairs bathroom ceiling (no extractor fans in the bathrooms). Some light bulbs were missing, some weren't working and the bulbs in the downstairs bedroom flickered all the time - possibly because the bulbs are not dimmable and the three lights are on a dimmer switch? Outside light didn't work - there was power to it, but the illumination wasn't sufficient. Parking area by the side of the garden wall was muddy - well, it was mid-November - but could be improved with gravel or shingle, etc. There was an £80 cleaning charge added to the rental charge (which to be fair we were aware of at the time of booking, so not a surprise) but it didn't feel like the property had had £80-worth of cleaning. I know that the owner is aware of some of the problems and is in the process or organising tradesmen to make improvements.
