"Charming home stay in beautiful setting"

8.0

The setting is wonderful, and Lydia and the staff are very helpful and kind. We ate some fantastic fish in the evenings - especially the night it was cooked over a wood fire. My favourite food in Sumba. Also special to stay in a bungalow based on Sumbanese traditional style.

Some work on new accommodation is being completed. No problem with noise but it had temporarily changed the path to the bungalows. I struggled with the large steps on the alternate pathway.

"Lovely stay in Sumba"

9.0

The room is confortable and make us feel like we were in a traditional house. Lydia was very helpful with everything we needed. We had some meals there and the food was very good.

Lots of mosquitos in the room, maybe a net in the toilet openings would help

"Passable"

5.0

It was clean and had a beautiful big pool. The staff, especially the kitchen staff were very sweet.

There were unfortunately so many mosquitoes in the bathroom and room. The owner is definitely taking measures to limit them (fogging, mosquito nets etc) but there were still lots, enough for us to leave a few nights earlier than we had planned to stay. The location is very beautiful however very far from any other accom, restaurants or shops. They had a monkey kept in a tiny cage. It was very distressed and sad to see.

"Great family and experience"

8.0

It is family run and everyone is so nice and helpful. We went fruit shopping all together in town, and got a little insights into the local life which was nice. The access to the beach is great. Quiet and in nature.

Unfortunately a lot of mosquitoes in the room and the internet is not great. Was a problem because we had to work. But Lydia is constantly trying to improve things so I think in the future this will be solved. :)

"Enjoy the beauty and serenity of untouched beaches from a cosy and comfortable homestay."

10.0

We love Asia and spend every year a month or more in the region. We found Three Queens exceptional for three reasons: First the location on the amazing and basically empty Rua Beach in beautiful Sumba. Second our hosts Lidya and Brad together with their three daughters and extended family pampered us throughout our stay with food and advice. Third, the four villas in traditional Sumba style are not only very beautiful, but also furbished and decorated with style and every detail is thought through.

During our visit, the construction of the pool area had not yet been finished, but it was nevertheless very refreshing to alter between swimming in the ocean and the pool
