San Karlu Hotel

We had a lovely stay at San Karlu in Valletta. The hotel is tucked down a charming alleyway in a traditional building, which adds to the charm. Everything was super clean and well looked after. Our room was a great size for a few nights – comfy bed, good aircon, and plenty of hanging space. The rooftop pool was a real highlight — the perfect way to unwind after exploring the beautiful streets of Valletta and the Three Cities. The only downside was the breakfast — a bit limited and cramped, but honestly, for the price point, you can’t expect everything. There are plenty of fantastic cafés nearby for a proper coffee and pastry fix. The location is quiet at night but within easy walking distance to all the action for dinner and drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Overall, a fantastic little hotel at a great value. We’d definitely come back!

The hotel is very nice and clean and his position is perfect for anyone who wants to walk around Valletta. Is very close to restaurants and bars and other points of interest.

Me and my girlfriend visited Malta for the first time over half-term and stayed at the San Karlu for three nights. The hotel was lovely, with nice rooms and a delicious breakfast. The pool was also lovely to visit, with the rooftop bar a bonus! The only feedback we'd give is that the pool could do with being heated, especially for when the sun goes down, and also the railings around the pool could do with glass or perspex layer to block out the wind - it can get a little chilly on the roof! Otherwise a lovely stay and we'll be back again!

Excellent hotel in a quiet part of Valletta. Short walk to centre, 10 minutes to bus station. Good breakfasts.

The hotel was lovely, very clean room was perfect good size, loved the dressing gown with slippers, we had a safe and cooler fridge, staff very friendly, breakfast was great a good choice, if there was anything we needed staff were very helpful. Perfect location easy to get about, walking distance to the square restaurant and bars, shops… Definitely will recommend this place and if I was to go back to Malta I definitely would stay at the same place.

Beautiful, clean hotel in a great location.

The property was spotless. Breakfast was good. The location was within walking distance too many attractions and to the ferry. The only drawback about Valletta was the walking up and downstairs. But that had nothing to do with the property. I would stay there again. There were lots of great restaurants and nightlife very close to the hotel. But the hotel was extremely quiet.

It's a lovely cosy hotel near the main attractions of Valletta yet quiet enough. The convenience store and pizza place Sally port is near enough to grab quick bites and groceries on rainy day. The reception staffs are nice and friendly and willing to help (water bottle refills and guide tips on getting around). The breakfast staff manager in suit was helpful and attentive. Housekeeping staffs were clean and prompt. Will recommend this for stay in Valletta
