Lovely modern clean room.

You can hear noise from other guests and when music is on downstairs. It didn’t spoil it though.

When I arrived, toilet looked like it was used but not flushed. Shower jammed and wouldn’t turn off, had to call for assistance. Rooms are pretty outdated. Also, I noticed the receptionist was saying guests room number out loud, never seen this before. Especially since the room number is written on the back of the room key slips, so no need. Not her fault I assume she was badly trained. Guests checking in before me, she said the room number and the names of the people in the room, could definitely seen a massive safety issue with this, especially for a woman travelling solo like myself.

We stayed 2 nights. Excellent location as it’s on the Main Street. Free parking in the Stockwell Lane parking garage. Take a photo of your number plate when you park and register it at the hotel within 10 minutes of arriving. The room was small but really clean. As we arrived on the Sunday, we could only eat dinner that night in the hotel as the restaurant and bar don’t open Monday-Wednesday, reopening on Thursday. The dinner was absolutely beautiful and so was the cooked breakfast each morning. On our second night we ate at Il Forno Italian Restaurant directly across the street. Food was excellent. The wee bar beside it was great craic. The staff in the hotel and bar were really nice and very approachable, especially Rebecca at the breakfast serving and Ava at reception.

Our room was at the back of the hotel. The view from our bedroom window was awful, the bath wasn’t clean on arrival and the noise from the nightclub directly behind the hotel was a rave until 2.15am. It wasn’t until the next day that we saw a sign at reception offering free ear plugs!
