Four Petals Inn

The Good: The location is very close to the railway station, providing easy access to many areas. There’s a restaurant right below the property that serves decent and affordable food. The beach is directly across the road in front of the stay, offering a great view and beautiful sunsets (definitely the highlight of the property). The washrooms were clean, modern, and had hot water available throughout.

The Bad: We booked the place based on all the positive reviews. The rooms on the right side seem slightly smaller than the ones on the left (at least that’s our understanding). We specifically wanted the larger room shown in the listing (which was also priced higher). On the day we arrived, we were greeted by the owner’s husband, who helps manage the property. He showed us a room that wasn’t the one we booked but insisted it was “just like the other one.” We pointed out the difference, including the higher listing price, and he asked us to speak with his wife. When she arrived later, she explained that the room we booked was still occupied (even though we reserved it) and requested us to adjust with the smaller room. She did agree to reduce the price to compensate, which we appreciated, but it would have been far better if this had been communicated before our arrival. A little more transparency, instead of saying “This is just the same room,” would have made the experience smoother. There were also some odd experiences, such as receiving messages from the owner that were later deleted at strange hours (even days after we checked out). We assume this was an honest mistake, but we never found out what those messages were about. Keep in mind that the rooms are generally small—the price is mostly for the balcony and the view. The room itself doesn’t offer much beyond being well maintained.

Nice clean room and good shower. On the Main road overlooking the ocean and above a 24 hour restaurant. Some great Indian restaurants around the corner.

A little noisy due to the train line going past and the traffic. If you stay long enough you would get use to it.

ホテルは最高でした。 ホテルの口コミとは違いますが、海岸線を歩いていたら変なスリランカ人のおじさんが声をかけてきて、美味しいカレー屋知っていると言ってトゥクトゥクに乗せて、10倍の金額を請求して来たので 気をつけてください。

We had a great stay here. The host was very welcoming. The bedroom was clean and big. Downstairs there the did have a restaurant making it easy to have dinner.

There was a bar restaurant across the road that had place loud music till about 2-3am. On 2 occasions there was a cockroach trying to coming put of the bathroom sink.
