The Barn Behind 1530

It’s self catering. Everything you need for a wonderful stay in Castleton. Great property with parking and in a central location. Backs on to a wonderful restaurant. What’s not to like.

Was cold when we arrived. Maybe f the heating was on a little beforehand?

Excellent location, lovely place to stay, nice rooms & very clean, warm, and excellent restaurant & also very close to other drinking/eating pubs.

A small hob/cooker would have been nice too, but, understand that brings complications of electric/gas feeds!

Great location in the middle of Castleton, used it as a base for a couple of days walking and biking around the Peak. Hosts very friendly and helpful and the Italian restaurant out front is superb. Set out over two floors with the bedroom and shower-room/toilet on ground and the kitchen-dining-living on the upper floor It was quite cold on arrival but we turned the heating on and it was lovely. Slept very well. Bread, milk and butter provided

There was nothing we didn’t like

Clean, comfortable and an ideal location in the middle of the village. The parking spot was a real bonus and the milk, bread and butter were appreciated too. The property has had some love and attention spent on it. The shower room looked newly refurbished. We always prefer the extra space a property like this gives you over a hotel room. Being in the village gives plenty of opportunities for walks from the door; Mam Tor, Edale, Hope or even just to Peveril Castle or one of the caverns. We also ate in the attached 1530 restaurant and that was excellent.

We'd use it again however it was unavailable for when we are returning to Castleton in October. Booked for the restaurant mind you!

Location with parking, very comfortable bed, good shower, lovely light room above to relax, benefit of kitchenette.

The towels could have been a bit softer.
