Firefly Treehouse Cafe and Bar

I absolutely loved my stay here. The owners Lea and Terry were so kind, helpful and very welcoming. You can walk straight to the waterfall for a swim in the morning and the fireflies are so cool to see at night. They have filtered water, other drinks and food. The WiFi works really well. The whole place is really clean. I hired a bike at the port when I got to Siquijor, so I could explore the island, it was a great location for me and I loved being surrounded by nature. I will be coming back.

Location, hospitality, service, the rooms, waterfall, fireflies, dogs, everything!!! Especially the atmosphere in general. Such a lovely place.

I honestly do not have anything negative to say.

best food (veggie friendly too), best drinks, best waterfall, best doggos and cutest cats! Lea and Terry are super friendly and you immediately feel at home and never wanna leave again. And yes, there are fireflies too!

Was für eine tolle Unterkunft mitten in der Natur! Terry und Lea bieten hier eine großartige Möglichkeit an, mitten in Siquijor zu entspannen. Direkt nebenan ist ein Flusslauf mit kleinen Wasserfällen, die jetzt schon ein absolutes Highlight meines Urlaubs in den Philippinen sind. Der Zugang ist für Gäste des Firefly Treehouse übrigens kostenlos. Mein Tipp: So verlockend eine warme Dusche sein mag - geht gleich morgens zum Wasserfall und badet da. Frühmorgens stehen die Chancen gut, ganz allein zu sein. Ein dickes Lob geht an Terry für die tollen Tipps und den Support vor und während meines Aufenthalts. Und an Lea, die ein unglaublich gutes Essen zaubert. Ihr seid eine Bereicherung! Danke für alles. 🤗

Firefly Treehouse in Siquijor was a wonderfully unique and memorable stay, made even better by Terry and Lea, who were genuinely lovely hosts and incredibly helpful with anything we needed. The setting is beautifully rural, quiet, and secluded—surrounded by forest and giving you that magical “middle of nowhere” feeling, yet with a warm community vibe thanks to their daytime café that brings in a mix of friendly locals and curious tourists. With 11 dogs and 4 cats roaming happily around, there’s no shortage of furry company, all of them gentle and well-behaved. The wooden huts are simple but comfortable, equipped with a fan and mosquito net, and they helped arrange an easy motorbike rental through a reliable local contact. Because the area is very rural, you’ll definitely need a bike to get around, but non-drivers can also take advantage of their trusted taxi-trike guide for a full-day island tour. The on-site food menu is small but consistently excellent, laundry is available, and the shared showers and toilets at the main café are clean and convenient. The highlight of the stay was definitely Cabugsayan Waterfall—just a short two-minute walk from the property—where you’ll find a rope swing and a 5-metre jump, operated safely by locals from 9 a.m., with free entry for Firefly guests and early access at 7 a.m. The only crucial tip is how to get there: always take the long road around the island, heading to Lazi first and then up toward Firefly Hostel, turning right at the chapel (when coming from Lazi), and following the signs for the last kilometre; avoid the middle-island route, as the roads are extremely rough, especially at night.
