City House New Orleans Samesun

The hostel is very well located, practically in the French Quarter, close to several restaurants, shops and Café Beignet. It is a very safe place, with large and modern facilities in the kitchen and common area. The staff are quick to respond and answer your questions. It has a great price for the service and location of the place.

It was not possible to check in before 3 pm, which is a bit out of the way for those who are arriving in the city early in the morning and are carrying a suitcase or backpack. The rooms are tidy and clean, but they are very, very cold at night. Unfortunately, there are no individual power outlets next to most of the beds, so charging your cell phone can be difficult, especially if you are on the top bunk. The bathrooms are ok, but the cleaning is poor, the shower stalls are very dirty, and even after cleaning, they were still dirty.

The property rental was a “pay at time of stay” agreement, however, the property immediately charged my card, refused to provide a refund, and most alarming, the manager harassed me via text thereafter. I am filing a lawsuit against the company and booking.com.

The staff was very welcoming and professional. Patrons at the hostel were extremely friendly, suggesting places and activities to do. Another perk about the hostel is that it is a gem located in a central position, close to all the main attractions. Gender neutral, shared bathrooms were clean.

A better job could be made for breakfast. A persistent, non-pleasant smell (similar to the bathroom smell) welcomed us in the downstairs lobby where to take the elevator that brought us to the hostel (the smell was not present inside the hostel)

People from different cultures were staying at the hotel and we got to meet each other, we had a memorable discussions and we exchanged our contacts. If you look to meet new people then this hotel is for you
