City House New Orleans Samesun

Let's not expect miracles from a hostel that sees a lot of people passing through :) The location is very good, and the staff is super helpful. Almost everyone complains in the comments about the bathroom being dirty, but honestly, it's the guests who make the mess, not the staff—so it's really worth cleaning up after yourself:)

I found a dead cockroach under the bed. And I think it would be worth considering adding extra blankets in the rooms because is extremely cold.

People seemed to really enjoy hanging out -- it was highly social. The location was perfect for catching all the touristy activities in New Orleans, and the price was unbeatable. The common spaces were also cute and cozy.

It's clear the owner does not want to make a decent investment into what could be an amazing place. The showers and bathrooms are rundown, the bedding is starchy and uncomfortable, and the wifi is unusable. If you want to work while staying there, you need to go somewhere else, which is not ideal.

Place is in downtown easy to walk back and close to bourbon st.

Central location

I’m not used leaving bad reviews because I understand how badly low reviews can impact the business but at the same time when they screw with you… - it is stated breakfast included: forget about it. Ive kindly asked to the employee and she pushed me back on my request - we were in the hall with my friends trying to make a claim for my friend’s iphone stolen during mardi grass and we were forced to leave the hostel in a rude way. Just to give you a flavour the hostel were totally empty and so we were not giving any problem to nobody - at the entrance there is an awful smell of urine. Really disgusting

The French Quarter location was absolutely perfect, specially during Mardi Gras - I could walk or take strategical public transportation to anywhere! We would have plenty of freedom inside the building. Good cookware and games were provided by the hostel. Extra: the fact that the staff would take us all to the parades and promote really great info and fun time was simply the best! I feel so grateful!

The building is very weird, enclosed and not well signed. The room would smell bad probably because there was poor ventilation and 12 beds full of people. The toilets weren't very clean. In the description, breakfast was included but at check in they said they don't provide it.
