The Light House

A really clean, secure and cosy place with excellent beds. Right on the seafront next to the beaches. Our host also left us a platter of home cooked pastries, copious amounts of snacks/afternoon tea and a large variety of breakfast goodies which were hugely appreciated. Thankyou so much to Midge our excellent host! We would highly recommend. (Also spending a few days seaglass hunting is really good fun and the beaches are beautiful and clean).

Nothing - it was an amazing 2 days !

The decor was very unique, personal and quirky. On arrival a fresh afternoon tea had been arranged aswell as plenty of snacks and breakfast items for our stay, there were so many personal touches and thought went in

Great location

The decor was lovely with very comfortable beds. Nice big television. Location was spot on, close to the beach,supermarket, shops, cafes and restaurants.

When we arrived I noticed hiw messy the floors were, needed a good vacuum and mopping. The fridge & freezer was full of opened foods, not cleared out from previous guests. There was some drawers in the bedroom with items in such as a bra, make up bag, medical creams. In the bathroom was half used toiletries. It was generally unclean. The oven did not work. The toilet was dirty with urine stains. The shower was ridiculously hot, after messaging the owner, it still could not be rectified. The windows throughout were filthy. During our stay, we were relaxing in the lounge, discussing what to get to eat, when we heard mens voices in the apartment, I went to see and there were 2 men at the top of the stairs with an oven, apparently they were coming to fit it, they were told the apartment would not be occupied. This stunned myself, my young daughter and mum. He rang the owner to sort out the problem, and apparently the owner was unaware of our stay. So, with a shower which we couldn't use, the oven we couldn't cook in, the mess which we had to clean, the old food we had to throw away and 2 strange men letting themselves in, I am very disappointed.

The flat is decorated and furnished to a high standard . the bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again given the chance

Excellent location, very close to shops, bars and restaurants amd the sea front. Spacious apartment with comfortable living area with large TV and very large and comfortable bed in a large bedroom, plus a child's bedroom which would sleep 2. Very modern appliances and well equipped kitchen. Large powerful shower too. Very much home from home. Excellent continental breakfast selection provided.

External seating area at the rear would be a nice addition if possible.

We liked the complimentary bottle of wine and beer, the snacks, We had understood there were kitchen facilities, but there was a full flat with all kinds of things, fridge, freezer and food. It was clean. It's an upstairs flat over a a shop. Parking is a problem but not insoluble, as you can find room in the little streets not far away.

This is a new property, we understand, to booking.com. We returned after our first evening to find water all over the bedroom floor. We rescued our electric things and phoned the landlord, who sent someone around to fix it. He was unable to do so and we had towels and things holding the water overnight, and were promised that someone would be around in the morning, as we were going out at noon. There was no heating on a cold night. And the water dripped all night. We did feel that accidents happen. We phoned the following morning at 10:30 asking where the workman was, as we had to go out at noon, to find the landlord unaware, it seemed that this was not fixed. He arranged to have someone there when we returned just before 4. The man was not able to fix it, he told us. I then said we would ask for a refund, whereupon he spoke to someone in his own language on his phone and suddenly was able to produce "new nut" to stop the leak, but we still had no heating. I would have left it at that, but as we left the following day, the people in the shop underneath us showed us a hole in their ceiling, directly underneath where the radiator was, meaning of course that this has been going on for months. There is apparently a legal case going on. I decided to complain privately to booking.com, to be informed that the landlord wanted to "remind us" that he had given us a bottle of wine by way of apology - which was there when we arrived, and I have yet to receive an apology from him anyhow, The workman certainly said he was sorry for all of this. We have been offered, and received £25 back. I will not return there. I have a holiday booked for May in Scotland with booking .com, and am seriously thinking of cancelling it. I have yet to hear back from booking.com, but they did seem to imply that with £25 back and the "apology" we did not receive that this was finished. I don't want money back.
