Georgeous setting and private and quiet place to stay close to town and pubs

The Old Cottage was a highlight of our stay in Ireland. As we traveled around the country we stayed in some wonderful B&B's, cabins, guest houses, and even a castle. All of them were wonderful and we've written some glowing reviews. However, nothing compared to the authenticity and charm of this Cottage. It gave us the feeling of staying in the Ireland of our imaginations. The Cottage was old and quaint, exactly as one would expect an old Irish cottage to be, but our room was attractive and clean with a comfortable bed and pleasant little sitting room. Our hostess, Elaine could not have been more pleasant and helpful. She's also a remarkably talented photographer. The Cottage was walking distance to town, if you are not afraid to take a 3 km hike,. We also found it easy and affordable to call a local cab. We would recommend The Old Cottage to anyone wishing to experience the charm of Ireland.

The breakfast and the location were very good. There was a fridge with milk, bananas, and chocolate in it. The host had a coffee machine and a kettle that we could use, and provided tea bags and coffee pods.

There could have been a tap (that wasn't the bathroom tap) to drink from, and to fill up the water on the coffee machine.

Elaine is a very accommodating host, gave us information for Cliffs of Moher and which routes to take going forward.

Room a bit small, no TV

Elaine is a wonderful host! She made me feel very welcome and provided all the comforts one would need and then some. She was a total delight! The room was lovely, the bed incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was perfect! There was also a little kitchen nook with all you need for a breakfast, which Elaine provided. It was quiet, comfortable and comforting. I will go back in the future!
