smelt horrible bed wasnt a proper bed dirty building was horrible and mucky in the corridors door didnt even lock felt very unsafe owner did not answer phone and also ignored message didnt stay and had to book somewhere else

The apartment, stunk, and the host was extreamly unhelpful. Discovery Inn is better.

Bad experience from start to finish, wouldn't stay again On arrival we called to ask about parking as we found the signs/parking app not be be in line with what we saw on the listing. Host picked up but did not speak until I spoke, which I thought was odd. Turns out parking isn't £10 all day as advertised, but you have to pay again every 2 hours (except for between 10pm & 8am) - quite inconvenient The key to the property is not at the property, which we did not see in the listing. On the welcome message it describes it as a 5 minute walk away. So, we went straight into town to collect the key (actually 7 mins walk each way) which would be more of a 20 minute round trip once you factor in trying to fathom the locks and where to go in the building where the key was hidden. This was more like a frustrating escape room we didn't have time for and hadn't expected than any 'normal' check in I had experienced before! We went straight into town from collecting the key and ran some errands, only getting to the apartment at almost 11 (this is in part because the apartment is almost impossible to find - another 20 minutes spent on our second surprise 'escape room' of the evening, navigating out way through what felt like endless doors and corridors leading to dead ends and out-of-order door numbers with no signage to help), this is where the fun really began. On arrival we boticed the apartment had a really unpleasant drainage smell throughout. The floors were filthy in places and the apartment generally did not feel very clean. We arrived tired and desperate for a wee and a shower, ready for our business meeting the next morning, but, no such luck - no toilet roll or shower gel were provided, despite clearly stating they are on the listing. I messaged and tried to ring the host but no answer (granted it was late but I still have not had a response as I write this, 6.

The entrance and hallways to the surrounding flats have had some vandalisation, and are awaiting some paint work/refurbishment. This should improve the overall look/feel of the building once complete.

Communicated with owner when they asked me what time I would arrive. I said that i would be there for 3pm but that if i was going to be later, i would ring. I arraived at 3 and having rang twice and texted, I couldnt get in until 3.45. Cold standing outside.

Advert said air conditioning. There wasnt any although that didnt matter. The heater heating the whole flat didnt work. I complained and was advised there would be a call out charge if they came out to swtich it on. I convinced them that it was broken and they came out later that evening. They confirmed it was broken and could not be fixed that night. There was defrosted food in the fridge, the bin was full of smelly food, the cooker door was dirty and the internet was so bad that the TV therefore didnt work. When they came round to fix the heating, they also couldnt fix the internet or the TV, They did remove the rubbish. I was woken at 10.00 saying the time was up but i pointed to the website booking .com which stated check out was up to 11.00. This was also confirmed to me by the chap that dropped off the keys. I did specifically ask this when I was given the keys because I had received a message saying that checkout was 10.00. On leaving the property, I had to walk through wet paint that had been thrown all over the floor outside and inside the communal areas (obviously somebody having a gripe against someone in the building). This paint attack had also taken place outside just before my arrival which meant I had to walk through slippery paint to get into the building. Nearest parking I could find for more than 4 hours was at the train station at £22.50 for 24 hours. I asked if the owners would consider a partial refund as I had no heat, internet or TV and I didnt hear anything back. I therefore wrote this review. THIS IS THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE MADE ON BOOKING .COM having stayed in dozens of apartments and hotels.

Good location for the town centre. Good size apartment which was clean. The shower was hot and basic kitchen facilities available however a couple of glasses to drink from would be a nice addition. A hair dryer would’ve been appreciated.

The communication prior to arrival was very poor with no response to messages. The info on parking is incorrect there is only limited and expensive street parking available. The appt is in a block of rentals but sadly upon arrival we saw paint had been sprayed all over the foyer and outside walls with references to the premises being a brothel which didn’t help the atmosphere but wasn’t the fault of the host. This was cleaned up to a degree the next day by the landlord. Internally the heater did not work as mentioned in previous reviews. The only heat source was the bathroom towel rail. Luckily it wasn’t too cold during our stay. The loo seat was loose. The TV remote wasn’t compatible with the tv and only worked through the internet which continually buffered making it impossible to watch.
