The cottage was very clean and home from home and a very nice welcome package

Everything! Modern, clean, beautiful area, lovely hosts, quiet and everything we might need was available in the cottage. Perfect for day trips to York (park ride only 8 mins drive away!), Harrogate, The Dales and beyond….

Decca Cottage is set in a very peaceful location ( you will need a car ) and so peaceful you can’t help but relax. Debbie was very welcoming along with Betty & Fred, two beautiful dogs and you also get to see Bob Debbie’s horse. The cottage is immaculately presented, with everything you could need, a welcome basket and lots of useful information. The kitchen is lovely and everything is so clean. The en-suite bathroom is a good size with a nice shower, plenty of storage in the bedroom & a comfortable bed. Really well located as a base to explore the area with park & ride into York not far.

Everything was amazing. Perfectly clean and comfortable. Location was perfect for walks, running, cycling, shopping and sightseeing.

There wasn’t a mirror downstairs. Otherwise it was perfect

Cottage was exceptional and was like a home from home with everything you would need. It was lovely to be able to sit outside to enjoy the weather when we got back from our day out. Being able to park directly outside the front door to unload/load the car was a bonus and to have Netflix to unwind at the end of the day was the perfect combination The cottage was in a lovely peaceful location, yet within easy access of many historic houses, gardens and national trust properties. We would recommend joining Historic Houses Association as there were many fantastic properties and gardens within 45 minutes (Newby Hall was our particular favourite). The park and ride carpark was within 5 minutes for visiting the beautiful city of York. We would recommend you use Rawcliffe Bar P&R as the bus runs here to 10.30 pm (Poppleton P&R only runs to 6.30pm!). We were also able to visit Castle Howard very easily which we have always wanted to do.

It was exceptionally hot weather for the time of year (June) so a tower fan in the bedroom would have been useful as we were restricted to opening windows due to hayfever. The option to convert to twin beds due to the heat would have improved our comfort. A useful tip is to get your groceries from the Tesco Superstore as we went ended up going to more than one local shop.
