Edward's Burrow

Perfect for what we needed! We had a wedding in town and just needed a bed for the night. Edward's Burrow was cozy, very clean and right in the centre of town! The room gets lovely natural light from the garden too and 11am checkout made for a nice slow morning.

It was everything we needed for our night stay near friends. It was spotless!

Tom let me in. I had the downstairs (bedroom, shower room and hallway) to myself. The heating came on regularly, and the bed was warm, and extra blankets were provided. Lots of storage space for my stuff (e.g. surface, clothes rail). The hosts made an adaptation for me unprompted, and I appreciated that. There are lots of places around to buy food, so no need to go hungry. Lewes also has quirky independent shops and antiques shops, so I always like to go for a wander.

Probably all outside the hosts' control: Bring a jumper, because it's always cold indoors in Lewes! Everywhere you go in Lewes you'll be going uphill. It's like Escher designed this town. The TV made me sign in for every channel; this seems to be increasingly common, and is confusing for someone who's used to just switching the box on and flicking channels at will.

The room was cosy but very compact. There was only a bed so nowhere to sit. However we were fully aware of that when booking. It was fine for one night but as there was no fridge it would be difficult if staying longer There was a slight damp smell in the hall, probably due to being at basement level. However the bedroom window could be opened for fresh air Kettle, filtered water, tea bags and biscuits were appreciated

Proximité du centre de Lewes, facilité d’accès, propreté. Pour une nuit, c’est très bien et pratique.

Qualité-prix.

Location was perfect. It was clean comfortable and had everything we needed for a two night stay. It was private, quiet and cosy

Others have said it was small and it is. But it is what it is. There is additional space outside the bedroom for storage clothes etc
