Comfortable home on South Hill

I loved all the character features, along with the modern updates. The communication was great, the house was clean and very warm and comfortable. We always bring our own coffee and sugar, but everything was there if you need it. Towels also provided.

Nothing really, everything was great! Just becareful of the fridge.... if you're used to swinging the door closed, this door stops just before it closes. But it does beep to let you know.

A nice spot to stay, lovely garden and outdoor sun room.

Was much bigger than I thought. Everything was spot on and Oamaru put on the most amazing blood moon and we stood on the driveway for stage looking at the Milky Way!!

Our stay in Oamaru was excellent. The property was super tidy, spacious, and very well equipped, making it easy to feel at home. The kitchen was especially impressive—efficient and stocked enough to prepare a more elaborate dinner without any hassle. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathtub was a real highlight after long days out. We also appreciated the beautiful gardens on the property, which added a peaceful touch to the stay. Overall, a very positive experience. We would happily stay here again.

The windows in two of the rooms don’t open, so it was a bit stuffy.

A full three bedroom house, so there is more than enough room for a couple! The kitchen was excellent, very well outfitted, including a gas-fired stovetop and a full-size fridge. The sunroom was an added bonus - we enjoyed cheese and wine out there. The bathroom was very nice also; the shower was great. The yard and gardens surrounding the house were lovely, an unexpected bonus. Plus there was a very nice view. So, many pluses!

About the only thing we can suggest is that the booklet providing information about the place needs work! A better explanation of how the two heat pump systems work would be useful. Hard-to-read photocopies of pages from the manuals are not all that helpful. Plus, info on how to work the TV is needed. There was nothing at all about the TV in the booklet, and I couldn't find a way to get regular live TV. Finally, PLEASE change your WiFi password to something easier to enter. It is currently set at the factory default, featuring 30 random characters uppercase, lowercase, letters, numbers. Arrggghhh. Changing it is very easy to do and future guests would love you for it.

This place was awesome! Everyone slept comfortably. Being able to cook dinner (and being within a short driving distance of a supermarket) meant we didn't have to spend lots of money eating out. The shower was good, and having the option to take a relaxing bath was well appreciated. The sunroom was lovely in the afternoon. We also appreciated the good internet, and the smart TV with its many different options. This is a good place to base oneself in the Oamaru area and visit such places as the Steampunk HQ, Bushey Beach, or the nearby Waitaki Whitestone Geopark.
