Spice of Ceylon

My husband and I were looking for a place by the beach that wasn’t crowded with tourists so we could relax and recover after traveling in Sri Lanka for almost two weeks. We booked Spice of Ceylon for two nights. I got a chance to talk to the owner Elizabeth. She and her staff are wonderful people. The place has an old world charm to it, huge rooms, books to read, puzzles, a beautiful staircase, a yoga studio, balconies for a sunset, etc. Our bed and pillows were soft and comfortable. There was mosquito repellent there too. Thanks again for having us.

Very accommodating couple runs the Hotel, they upgraded me without extra charges to make me stay in the room closer to the room of my sister; they were arranging the taxi drivers as per our requests; advising us for the places to see; Their kitchen is very clean, you better eat at this hotel than somewhere outside

It is a fantastic place to relax with welcoming hosts and staff. The room was huge, and the quality of the fittings were top notch. We ate all 3 breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and all were lovely and good value. Traditional fisherman on the beach and little noise. Safe place for a bike in you are cycling.

The building was lovely and the size of our room was great. The hosts, Elizabeth and Max, were kind people who were very friendly and accommodating and personally greeted us upon arrival. The location was interesting and our view of the beach with its fishing boats was good.

There was no water in our room due to a pump issue and the swimming pool had living insects in it which didn't inspire us to go for a swim in it! It would have been nice to have had a few more choices on the menu that catered for non-curry eaters which would be less hassle for the staff having to conjure something up.

An amazing place to stay to relax. A lovely pool, great food and excellent service. You can watch fishermen on the beach and the sunset. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Lovely building overlooking the sea, relaxed and friendly owners who were really helpful

The property was spotless, staff were exceptional and location is excellent for a few chilled out days in total tranquility. Gorgeous pool, rooms are massive and food is fabulous
