"The staff was helpful they guided me"

10.0

My stay at Green View Houseboat was very comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms were clean, peaceful, and well maintained. The highlight of my trip was the amazing Shikara ride on Dal Lake with Faizan. It was truly a unique experience. We went deep inside the lake, away from the crowded tourist areas, and explored beautiful green surroundings, quiet waterways, and abundant birdlife. The peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty made it feel like a completely different world. It was an unforgettable experience and one of the best memories of my visit to Kashmir. I highly recommend Green View Houseboat and their Shikara rides to anyone looking for an authentic and relaxing stay on Dal Lake.

"Wonderful stay in Dal lake"

10.0

I had a wonderful stay at Green View Group of Houseboats on Dal Lake. The overall experience was excellent. The hospitality and service were truly outstanding, and the staff made us feel very comfortable throughout our stay. The dinner served was delicious and freshly prepared, and the breakfast was equally amazing with great taste and quality. The houseboat was well-maintained, and the peaceful atmosphere of Dal Lake made the stay even more memorable. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Srinagar. A must-visit for a comfortable and memorable houseboat experience! Thank you for the warm hospitality. 😊

"Homey stay on Dal Lake"

9.0

This family-run houseboat is on the other side of the Ghats, so it’s quiet and relaxing. Father and son are welcoming and both speak English. They pick you up for free from a little point nearby if you take the boardwalk, just advise arrival time. The budget room is basic and economical. If you want a bit more luxury, towel and topsheet, go for the deluxe rooms. Faisan (son) has excellent English and will take you on the Dal Lake shikhara boat tour away from the tourist crowds if you wish.

The basic room's bedding was rather musty, without a topsheet, and I didn't have a towel or soap, but I'm sure you can ask for them.

The place is on the quiet side, I would say the location is good. It's clean also (the sheets didn't feel crispy clean, but still ok I guess for Kashmir standards). And also Mr Farooq seems a decent person and I had some nice conversations with him.  But the reason why I would not recommend this place is his son. They kinda run the business together, but his son mainly takes care of the Shikara ride. I made another friend at the boathouse and we were planning to share the cost of the ride, till the guy asked us 2500 per person for a 4 hour ride around the lake. He was trying to sell it like we were going to see the secret spots that only he knows, and how fast he needs to ride for it, and how tiring it is (even though he repeatedly would say that his price was 790 /hour).  We tried to negotiate with him for at least 1000 /hour (which still seemed a lot), and he just didn't accept. I honestly didn't understand why he was acting like he was the OG of Shikaras, or like he invented the sport or whatever, because I went down to the ghats and I got a deal of 300 /hour.  Every time we would try to meet him half way, he would just come with some other excuses, I literally spend 2 hours of my day trying to negotiate with a pice of rock. He also would bring his brother to sell you the "real pashmina" (which I didn't even try), but I am pretty sure their pashmina is like their shikara deal. If you decide to come here, I would say the less you speak to him, the better is going to be for you (when I say "you", I mean your pocket and your mental health).  I've been around for a long time, and trust me when I say, I know when I see one.
