The Masons Arms

We had a lovely family room, with a separate space for the kids. The staff was so friendly and they even thought to book us dinner on the arrival night without asking. A life saver. The food was great, too!

Bedroom was a bit dark

Lovely traditional hotel, recently refurbished, great breakfast. Very nice staff.

We stayed in room 12 - a premium room. It is a large room with everything needed for a comfortable stay.

It wasn’t possible to view the tv from the sofa. We watched from the 2 upright chairs, but 2 comfortable armchairs would have been appreciated. Although the bed was made in the afternoons, the bathroom wasn’t cleaned or tidied and the towels were not changed. We stayed 3 nights. Some more light would be good. The small windows are attractive but leave the room dark, and the lighting is also quite low.

Es war wunderschön eingerichtet mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und das Essen spitze. Wir hatten dort auf unserer Rundreise das schönste Zimmer mit der schönsten Aussicht und einem super gemütlichen Bett.

We stayed here after a couple of nights in Lyme Regis as we wanted to walk a couple more sections of the SWCP. The Mason's Arms would have been the perfect location for this - had the local bus not been cancelled! We thus had to do circular walks rather than the stretches we had originally planned. Not the fault of the pub though, which is superb. Lovely spacious and well appointed room in a building across the car park. Huge bathroom with a fabulous shower, and all the amenities you would expect. Breakfast and dinner were very good. Interesting wine list as well.

A minor problem but the coffee machine in the pub was out of order when we stayed, so limited coffee options at breakfast. The staff were most apologetic!
