San Damiano Inn

Not far from the city center, you can walk to the popular places.

Very loud out side in the evenings and mornings, as the rollers and cars were driving a lot. Shower did not have the cold water and it was very small. The staff does not speak english, except for Pietro, it was very hard to comunicate.

The place is equipped with everything you need for living. 2 bathrooms, stove, refrigerator, coffee machine with capsules, kettle, set of dishes and cutlery for 5 persons, bag for going to the store, salt, sugar, sunflower oil, spices, a bottle of water, we even found 4 eggs, toast and a bottle of milk! Iron, hair dryer, air conditioner, lots of cleaning and washing products, shampoo, sunscreen, other hygiene products, 2 mirrors, a dryer on the balcony, a high chair, a cot, an umbrella, a large umbrella for the beach, half a deck of cards for playing UNO)) Petro met us at the airport (30 euros for transfer), he speaks English.

No soundproofing at all. You live inside the constant shouts of Italians in the background, the sounds of construction, cooking, barking dogs. The first morning I was very afraid that all this was happening right on our balcony. It turned out that it was on other balconies and the street. If you are looking for a quiet place, this is not the place for you.

Clean. Big bed. Good location.

When we arrived at the apartment, there was a gentleman (probably the owner) waiting and he told us that the previous tenant had left the keys inside the door. The owner drove us to the cafe and we had coffee and snacks on his dime (much appreciated).

I would have expected breakfast to be a bit better quality. Packaged croissants from the store from a big bag, hard crackers, sweet bars. I usually prefer savoury breakfasts, it's just my opinion, but I would expect some savoury part too. Cleanliness of the whole apartment, we expected some extra time that the cleaning lady was still cleaning, but it was nowhere to be seen. Dust on the floor, trampled (probably from previous guests) and the bedroom floor ... well it could be better. The dishes (glasses, cutlery) were also dirty.

The location is great near "piazza Machiavelli" and "via Vittorio Emanuele II". The place is renewed recently and composed of two levels, down you can find the living and the kitchen and a small toilet, upstairs the main bedroom and the bathroom. The owner Mr. Antonio is so kind and friendly he let us check-in early and we found the kitchen prepared with coffee and breakfast for all the three days. The place was clean and warm .

The location is great. There is also a terrace and they have a lot of space. Definitely good for a few days as it is easy to access and close by to the city center. Also they had some sweet things and water for us. And coffee of course.

The property doesn’t have everything you need. Like basic knives are missing, no chopping board, the frying pan should be replaced. Also there was only one set of towels for two people. Additionally nothing to hang those towels in the bathroom. A few important things as without knives you can’t make good food and it’s not ok to not have a chopping board.

Beautiful and big apartment apartment, 10min walk until all attractions and restaurants.

Early check out- its already at 10am, but owner asked us to check out already at 9am because other guests were coming

Value vs Cost - close to city center - on the 'non tourist' side of the city. Seriously this was a great experience, I can recommend! Tip: add some sunbathing chairs on the balcony/terrace. Thank you for your great hospitality!

Some of the 'schizophrenic' neighbors contributed to the 'chaotic character of Sicily but now and then the shouting was a bit 'too much'... mind you nothing the owner could do about.... just saying that it would be wise to go in there with an open mind. I liked the apartment and the area and could recommend it to a couple.
