Quaint building Good location

Everything to be honest, great value, entertainment both nights, great breakfast

I had the traditional breakfast which was very adequate for me. Also tea and toast. all served quickly and efficiently by the staff. The position of the hotel was excellent for the area around the hotel that I wished to visit.

The Wi-Fi was down for the first night of my stay, which was very inconvenient for me. However it was back on line for the remainder of my stay and worked very well.

The staff were polite, helpful and friendly. The building looked impressive from the outside and when I looked in the breakfast room this also looked impressive (we were unable to attend breakfast as we left very early). Unfortunately our ensuite was so badly designed and cramped I wondered if we would be able to actually sit on the loo. We did, just about! But if you're of above average proportions then probably not! The shower was also very cramped and the pump made such as awful noise that I left the shower with my nerves on edge, rather than relaxed. The ensuite looked fairly newly refurbished, but the dink was too large, the shower too small and the window had a holey, grey net curtain that looked to be about 60 years old (about the same age as the paint on the bathroom door). Our bed was over firm, so I balanced on top of the mattress rather than sank into it, and we were awoken by repeated noise outside our bedroom door at 5.45 am, on a Saturday. It appears that coach loads of older guests stay here, and one gentleman was undertered by the creaking floorboards and insisted in getting his morning walk by striding the corridors, over and over again. The staff and Criccieth were an absolute joy, but whoever designed this ensuite bathroom and oversaw the refurbishment should steer away from interior design!
