The Dacha. Cumberland vacation

Super modern, artsy, and tons to do just in the house itself; I never left because I was too busy having fun with the home automation, the wine, the fireplace and lighting, exploring all the comfy areas, sitting in the hot tub, everything! It had my dream bathroom with a rainfall shower and a clawfoot tub as well, plus heated floors in the bathroom. I did not want to leave.

The only thing was that the stairs are very narrow and steep. I have trouble with stairs and keeping balance so I left my luggage downstairs and only brought up necessities like toiletries and PJs. So if stairs are a problem you might want to take that into consideration, but I’m sure most people would have no problem.

The Dacha was unlike any place we've stayed. The artwork filled the walls with color. The continental breakfast was money-saving. The amenities were amazing. The beds were cozy and comfortable, and clean. The bathroom was super spacious! It's a Smart house and a wonderful stay!

If I had to find something I didn't like, it would be: - no curtain to cover the back door window. - no washer/dryer.

From the outside it looks a bit neglected BUT inside It is very modern , It was clean and comfortable. We arrived early so bumped into owner, he was completing the cleaning. Some provisions were in the huge fridge. Don't really want this to be a 'Didn't like section' as it wasn't a big deal and may be it's my age but there were remotes for just about everything and it wasn't obvious which remote did what. It could have done with some instruction indicating which did what. Blinds had remotes but some were next to the blinds so obvious but others were by the beds. Even room lights were not straight on off switches but had slides to vary light intensity. We spent some time picking a remote up and pressing to see what it did. I can image those less staid them me would love being able to remotely control things ,- I found it over complicated but as I said not really enough to call it a don't like'. It has outside area at the rear with some facilities and parking place accessed by a back lane. Owner a painter too and some of his work hung on the walls.

Outside of building needs attention. Area looked rough but we were there three days and it was fine.

Very modern and updated, with a very nice aesthetic. The home has been equipped with smart features so that you can change temps, lights, etc as well as turn lights on and off just by saying “hey google (turn lights on/off). The bathroom has heated floors, double sink, and a dual overhead shower that is separate from the soaking tub. The host also ensures you have all you may need by providing toothpaste, toothbrushes (bamboo style, eco friendly!) plenty of towels, a little makeup/hair area with a hair dryer provided as well. There was also a private parking area in back for us. The host was also very quick in his responses whenever we had a question about anything. 10/10, was very pleasantly surprised by how wonderful and comfortable this home was. Would recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful and affordable stay in/near Cumberland, Maryland! Within distance to plenty of things to do and a fair amount of food options.

The host was wonderful and answered all our questions right away. Our flight was delayed and we ended up getting there 4 hours later than expected. We were able to get in the house as the host provided the code for the keypad. What a wonderful surprise when we entered the house, it was so clean and decorated very stylish with the owners artwork. There were eggs, yogurt, fruit, begals, cream cheese, butter, milk, tea, coffee everything you needed to make breakfast. The house is very smart, it was fun trying to figure everything out. We would definitely stay again.
