Beach house in Oriental Parade

The property is very spacious and great value for money compared to a hotel bedroom in the city. The beds were super comfy and it had everything needed for a home from home. The view from the front bedroom and living room are just gorgeous! The ocean is right in front of you across the road and the walk into town is just 15 minutes through the lovely harbour.

The main road is under the front bedroom window so although it has amazing views, it is noisy and not for light sleepers. The back bedroom joins onto the neighbours who we could hear coming and going around 2am

Noise level on Saturday night across at beach, fireworks being set off at 1am. Not property's fault, but a consideration of choosing to be Central.

Dirty, old & tired decor. Like a student flat. Very dusty & mouldy which brought in allergies - wheezing & sneezing. Chewing gum on the carpet. No bedding for the pull-out bed. Overpriced. Needs deep cleaning & redecorating.

The worst stay I have had in Wellington, hands down. Booked with my family for 2 nights for a weekend away. Good location is the only positive. We left after the first night because the property was in such poor condition that we had to book into a hotel. Photos of the apartment on Booking.com were from a different property and misleading. The standard of the property was poor. It was like a student flat. The building is old, decor, paintwork, carpets and furniture were old and tired/worn. Thin walls, could here the neighbours clearly talking through the walls. Beds were very uncomfortable. Bedding (sheets, blankets and pillows) was old, harsh/hard, cheap quality, had holes in some of the sheets and blankets, pillows were like bricks. No bedding at all was provided for the fold down bed. Not well cleaned - dirty windows, cobwebs and a dirty bathroom. Poorly insulated, cold and the heating was inadequate. Windows were not sealed properly and rattled loudly in the wind, on top of very loud road noise, which kept us awake all night. Kitchen not well provisioned with cooking or eating utensils - it had a small selection of odd and mismatched crockery and cutlery. Overall this property is in very poor condition and in desperate need of renovating. Grossly overpriced for the condition of the property. Complained to Booking.com, who wouldn't help. There are much better options available in Wellington for the same or less money. Overall, really poor experience.
