The World Backwaters, Alleppey

Great location, excellent staff, fabulous restaurant

Rooms could have been a bit better but no complaints at an overall level

We had a perfect 4 days at The World Backwaters with its colourful sunrises, serene views of the lake and warm, friendly people. Our second visit to this fabulous hotel; we only wished we could stay longer. Pratheesh; the head chef, and his team cooked exquisite Keralan food. The fish, mutton and prawn curries were all extraordinary with spice levels adjusted to personal tastes. This is great place to sample excellent traditional recipes. The breakfast buffet is also a very tasty mix of local and western styles served in a beautiful setting. All the staff here make you feel like you are staying with family and provide a special, relaxed environment for a great stay. Really this place deserves an ‘11’ but certainly a 10/10. Location and service. Staff was very friendly

The foyer of the room smelled of damp mositure since it wasnt air conditioned. It will be good if the resort fixes this.

There were construction works happening throughout our stay which were very noisy. There was also no spa. None of this was communicated before we arrived or during check in. We were given a complimentary massage nearby at another hotel, but this did not really make up for it. The noise was constant and loud from 9 - 5.

Amazing location on the lake. Great activities for kids - fishing, cycling, games room. We realy enjoyed spending the day at the hotel. The pool was great. Good and tasty breakfast and generous dinner
