The location is great, just at the base of Helvellyn and with easy access to the rest of the Lake District. It was also very peaceful at night. The host was very welcoming, friendly and provided a smashing cooked breakfast. The shower was excellent too, great pressure!

Nothing really! The decor won't be to everyone's taste, but it certainly won't spoil your stay.

The whole property was homey, just what we wanted for a relaxing stay away from the city. We loved the full English breakfast served by the house owner herself. We felt very welcomed by Jean. The home has a very traditional British and homey feel to it. The location is a perfect retreat as it is located at a scenic, accessible and quiet location. It’s in between Keswick and Ambleside. Plus the thirlmere infinity pool and waterfall is just a hike away which can actually be seen from our bedroom window.

I was in the single room and the bathroom was another room next door which meant going from one room to another. Bathroom for the single has a roll top bath which is amazing but a bit tricky to have a quick shower
