Kandyan View Homestay - Foreign

The room was bigger than my expectations, with a beautiful terrace. Apart from the bedroom there was a dining room with basic facilities for having meals at the accommodation (no cooking). Everything was really clean, the host available for any need I had. I really recommend it if you want to have a perfect accommodation, for a good price, a little bit far from the main city centre.

A 15 mins walk (quite steep) from the lake, where buses can be taken. If you want reach the location with a tuk tuk, it could be that the price would be higher than normal for the steep road it should do. At night time many barking dogs in the area were a bit disturbing.

The room was huge and super clean. Couldn’t have asked for better!! The people were also so helpful and friendly. Highly recommend

This place has been our favourite accommodation in Sri Lanka. The views are amazing from the balcony, the family were all so kind and friendly and made sure we had everything to make our stay was perfect. As it was New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day in Sri Lanka they brought up so much traditional food (which was delicious) which was so kind also. The family really made this stay amazing and if I ever came back to Kandy I would only stay here. Thank you so much!

Location and View was amazing. Loved the walk back up from town. Breakfast was so lovely and the hosts were extremely friendly, I felt very welcomed and they looked after me.

The room is nice and spacious, it was clean, and the owners were respectful

We booked for the balcony but couldn’t use it; the owners warned us that local monkeys would grab our belongings. Between the constant vigilance required to keep doors locked and a long list of strict rules, the stay felt more like a job than a vacation. ​The checkout is early (10:00 AM) with a strict 600 LKR hourly fee for staying late. Additionally, there are extra charges for basics like Wi-Fi and even additional toilet paper, which was already in short supply.

Traumhafter Ausblick und tolle große Terrasse, die man ganz für sich allein hat. Auch die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig. Man wird immer wieder von einer Horde Affen besucht, die übers Dach und den Balkon klettern, das ist bestimmt nicht für jeden etwas, aber uns hat es große Freude bereitet die äffchen zu beobachten :)

Es gab leider kein wlan (auch nicht gegen Aufpreis). Das war etwas nervig, da manchmal auch die mobilen Daten nicht mehr funktioniert haben.
