The Coach House

Location

The coach house was very much a old style guest house. All a bit higidy pigidy in the corridors. The decor was a bit dated but it was clean and tidy. Everywhere smelt very fresh and aired with no hint of mustiness. The bedding was crisp and clean as were the towels. Bathroom was clean and tidy and plenty of hot water in thd shower. Bed was very comfortable. I had a front road adjacent room and it was a bit noisy at times with late night revellers outside. But ear plugs were provided which I used the second night and slept solidly. Location is very central and it is literally a five minute walk to the cathedral. Overall a very nice stay (do go to the Beany Museum in Canterbury. They have Bagpuss and the Clangers!)

The only thing that wasn't great was the comms. I wanted to book the parking (which is an extra £5 per day) so emailed in advance but received no reply. I tried to ring but got no reply and couldn't leave a message as the phone mailbox was full. When I arrived Simon and Ae who are there to assist were lovely but hadn't been informed of my arrival. And I only received the arrival information email the day after I left! So the owner Ben needs to be a bit more on it with comms. It was the only downside of a nice stay.

Nothing whatsoever.

As I stated, nothing good to say about this property other than avoid!!!! Owner rude, site not clear on the amount and safety of the stairs.

Locations is just right in the center of the town, walkable to most places of interest. Host is very nice and accomodating

Cleanliness can be improve

Ho adorato l'estetica della stanza e il fatto di avere un bagno privato con tanto di water. Ho apprezzato molto la possibilità di farmi delle cioccolate calde alla sera da bermi sotto alle coperte. Le istruzioni dell'host per entrare nell'edificio e nella mia stanza erano chiare ed è stato gentile nel chiedermi se volevo consigli su dove fare la colazione. Posizione centrale ma nonostante questo, 0 rumori provenienti da fuori.

Nonostante i miei 45kg il letto sprofondava sotto al mio peso e mi svegliavo alla mattina con un pò di mal di schiena. La stanza non è molto insonorizzata, sentivo dei vicini litigare, altri giocare rumorosamente con i figli, e avendo il bagno in comune attaccato alla mia stanza, sentivo anche cosa succedeva all'interno. Non sono cose che si possono cambiare perché vorrebbe dire ricostruire l'edificio da zero, ma sarebbe bello se i vicini fossero più educati e considerevoli.
