Unique period one bedroom house in Colchester

We only stayed for one night in this quirky cottage. It was perfectly located with a gorgeous little front garden for breakfast.

Instructions were easy to follow and accurate. Passcode was straight forward and easy to remember. The location of the keybox was obvious and we did not have to hunt for it

Nothing. Only to be highly critical, on a personal level, there was no cafetiere which I personally prefer. Only a coffee machine which is far more efficient and easier to clean, but I don't enjoy the taste as much!

Property size was good. Storage space is larger than most. Cosy and comfortable. Proximity and short walk to town. Communication with owners was good.

Car parking wasn't ideal.

Beautiful, great location

The blinds were up on a blistering hot day so the upstairs of the property was very hot. It took a long time to bring the heat down.

The quiet

The next door neighbour burned leaves in the garden and did a huge smoke and we had all the smoke in the house at 21 o'clock

A total gem of a place, Max and Kay are wonderful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. My partner and I have stayed twice and will definitely be back it's a very special place. Thank you so much.

This is an amazing place to stay and will look forward to booking again in the future.

There was nothing to dislike it was amazing.

Delightful tastefully appointed cottage in very quiet and secluded location but only moments' walk to beautiful Castle Park, castle, Hollytrees Museum, Firstsite, Curzon cinema, shops etc. Parking if needed less than a minutes' walk away in Greyfriars car park (£8 a day). Community feel to area with local Forresters pub close by. Easy keysafe check in, milk, tea coffee and biscuits welcome. Good tv and fresh cotton bedlinen. Eco considered choices of toiletries and kitchen detergents.

Not a problem for us, but be aware that the stairs are fairly steep.

Lovely character, lots of nice touches like milk, tea etc.

It isn’t dirty by any means but there was a fair few cobwebs around the windows, the shower isn’t great you needed to run around under it to make sure you got wet!
