Seaview Apartment walking to the Beach

Amazing large fully equipped apartment close to the beach Praia Formosa or bathing in Doca Cavacas within a hotel area in Funchal. Many restaurants nearby, big shopping center in comfortable walking distance . Parking place for free inside the building. Calm area. Beautiful seeview on Praia Formosa and sunsets from balcony. Equipped kitchen. 4 km walking to the city center or bus stop just in front of the apartment building.

No air condition - just a note, because we didn´t mind- even in August we could ventilate and cool whole apartment thanks to balconies and blinds. Sometimes we could smell the smell from the sink. It could be a construction defect but cover from a dishwashing sponge prior we left for a trip helped us.

The flat was well equipped, the kitchen had most of the things one needs to make it functional without having to run around to buy many things on your first day. Flat is also nicely decorated and spacious with a gorgeous ocean view, especially at sunset.

Bathrooms (mostly the en-suite) have a mouldy smell as ventilation is not great. The pillows and mattresses were poor quality and both me and my husband struggled to get a good night's sleep even not being super fussy sleepers. And for me the major minus was the fact the during a nearly 20 days stay, the management company has not even once checked-in with us to see if we needed anything and they have not sent the cleaning company to at least change the bed linens and towels every 4-5 days. After a week, I had to chase them to ask for clean towels and fresh bed linens and that was the only time the service was provided! Given the price was not low and a hotel constantly changes bed linens and towels, I will reconsider renting out flats in favour of hotels for the next trips. On the last few days toilet paper (very poor quality) ran out as the person(s) in charge of cleaning forgot to add extra rolls for such a long stay.
